Christmas Star

TSSC282Oh I wish you could see this in real life…it is sooooo shiny!  The gold embossing…the gold foil…oh…soooo pretty!  But you’ll just have to believe me on this one!

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I took another piece of Very Vanilla, stamped the star in Versamark then gold embossed.  I layered this on a piece of the gold foil paper (I cut out the center to ‘conserve’ paper and did use the inside for the strip across it.  I wrapped a piece of the crochet lace around it, added to the panel then added the panel to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting in versamark, gold embossed, punched with the decorative label punch then added to the card front using dimensionals.

TSSC282Oh I soooo wanted to use this star and the sketch couldn’t have been better for it!  We’d love to have you play along!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Gorgeous Grunge

CCMC270Okay…I LOVE this card!  Since it is Thursday it is time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this week it is a cool color challenge – Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Cajun Craze!  When trying to figure out what to use I saw my Gorgeous Grunge set and thought…this would be perfect.  And it WAS!!!

The base of the card is Bermuda Bay.  I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the larger solid splatter in Crushed Curry, the smaller solid splatter in Bermuda Bay and the diagonal stripes in Cajun Craze.  I added some of the tiny splatters in Early Espresso.  I layered this on Cajun Craze, added a piece of Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon then Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon then added the panel to the card front using dimensionals.  Next I stamped the you make me happy in Early Espresso on Whisper White, cut out, used my Bermuda Bay marker to add so ‘highlights’.  I layered this on a Cajun Craze Artisan Label that was sponged with Cajun Craze then added some Crushed Curry Candy Dot.  I added this to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.

Head over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out what the Design Team has done with these GORGEOUS colors!

Magnificent Maple

CC445Yep…I SERIOUSLY LOVE these two set…Magnificent Maple (a la carte) and Gorgeous Grunge.  What can I say!  And together…just PERFECT!  I thought it would work so nicely for the color challenge on  SCS today!  And it is also perfect for the CASology challenge today for ‘autumn’.

The base of the card is Smoky Slate.  I took a piece of Whisper White and stamped the horizontal stripe in Smoky Slate and then the ‘splotch’ in Smoky Slate too.  I layered this onto a piece of Gumball Green and added a thin strip of the Gumball Green. This panel is added to the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the leaf in Gumball Green on Whisper White, cut out and added using dimensionals.  Next was stamping the greeting using Gumball Green on Whisper White, cut into a banner and add using dimensionals.  Finally it needed just a little more so I added some Basic Rhinestones for that little extra ‘bling’!

Paper: Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Gumball Green

Sweet Essentials

SUO80Oh my…so the SUO Challenge this time is to make a BABY themed card.  WHAT???  Like I have ANY STAMPS for a baby card.  What’s a girl to do?  So after much thinking this is what I came up with.

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I ran the top through the Dotted Embossing Folder.  Next I took a piece of So Saffron, cut the bottom edge using the Large Scallop Edge then embossed the bottom with the Delicate Designs Embossing Folder and the top with the Needlepoint Embossing Folder.  I added a strip of Wisteria Wonder along the top then added to the card front.  Next I made a bow with the Gift Bow Die and Afternoon Picnic dsp.  I added this to the card front.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey on Wisteria Wonder, cut into a banner and added to the bow.  Finally I tied some white baker’s twine on a Wisteria Wonder button and added to the bow to finish it off!

Check out what the other SUO Design Team members did for their baby cards!

Tour de Freaks – Sept

freakwelcome2013

Welcome to the September Tour de Freaks where we are all about HALLOWEEN!!!!  If you are going forward through the hop you arrived here from Wendy Weixler’s Wickedly Wonderful Creations Blog.  Weren’t the project just wonderful?

So…I was thinking about what to do for Halloween and I really didn’t buy that much from the mini and then I said to myself…why not do some My Digital Studio stuff?  I love using MDS because there are so many ways to adjust the images and to use them.  So that is what I did.  The other GREAT thing about MDS?  The stuff NEVER retires!  COOL!!!  So let’s start with my card…

HalloweenCardThe base of the card is Summer Starfruit.  I took a piece of the Witches Brew dsp, layered on Basic Black and then to the card front.  Next I added a thin black banner then a thicker Summer Starfruit banner.  The images were all done in MDS, printed out on Very Vanilla and cut out.  I layered the ‘celebrate’ label on Basic Black, added a Basic Black Artisan Label punch piece on the top and bottom and added to the card front using dimensionals.  The Halloween banner was also done in MDS, printed of and added using dimensionals.  The bats were made from the ‘BEWARE’ oval image in MDS.  I got rid of the ‘extra’ around it, made bigger.  I added some Rhinestones to finish it off.  The digital sets I used were…Halloween Bash and Spooky Central Design Ensemble (the little spider on a web that I added to it).

HalloweenFrameSo now for my very favorite of my two projects…a cute little Halloween frame!  I found this frame at Michael’s and I thought it would make a perfect little Halloween frame and I was right!  The central panel is made like the card…just bigger!  I love making something once then being able to resize!  I used the Decorative Label Punch on the top and bottom.  In my top little panel I used a Pumpkin Pie Artisan Label, the BEWARE scallop oval resized and colored and then added the bat.  The cat is from the digital Spooky Bingo Bits layered on a Summer Starfruit 1 1/4″ Circle.  The the bottom panel is Pumpkin Pie Bracket Label, digital pumpkin from Halloween Happiness and the admit one from Halloween Bash.  Now I did use A TON of dimensionals on this…lots of dimension on this!  I wrapped some dsp around the outside of the frame and then added a fake ‘handle’ on the top out of Basic Black.  Rhinestones were added to finish things off!

So…how much fun are those!  I just LOVE MDS and all the things you can do with it. Mostly I just using things for hybrid projects but they always turn out just so COOL!!!!!

So now it’s time to head on over to Jason’s Stampin’ Pad.  He has some great Halloween cards for you!

CCMC269It’s Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge and this week…it’s a FUN sketch!  I was having a touch time figuring out what I wanted to do for the challenge and then decided a nice sunflower would work!

The base of the card is 4 x 11 Wild Wasabi Folded.  I took two strips of Wild Wasabi, ran through the Pretty Prints Embossing Folder and added to the top and bottom.  I took a piece of Very Vanilla and used the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge in Sahara Sand and added to the card front.  I added a Chocolate Chip Herringbone print banner than a pointed strip in Wild Wasabi.  The Sunflower is Blossom Petal die – bottom layer Crushed Curry, top layer Crushed Curry print from Sweater Weather.  Each layer is sponged with Crushed Curry.  Leaves are the outline stamp from Gently Falling – Wild Wasabi stamped with Chocolate Chip, cut out and added behind the flower.  I stamped the greeting in Chocolate Chip on Very Vanilla, punched with Bracket Punch and added to the center of the flower using dimensionals.  I added the flower to the card front.

Gorgeous Grunge

GrungeWhat a perfect name for this set – GORGEOUS GRUNGE!!!  This was one of the FREE sets we got at convention this year and it was really hard to wait to get it.  Last night I had a workshop with a great group of ladies I have been meeting with monthly for about 11 years…yep…that long!  They are such a wonderful group of ladies and we always have such a good time together.  Anyway the hostess wanted me to do a card using Gorgeous Grunge and this was one of our mnts.

This is such an EASY card…the base of the card is Bermuda Bay.  I took a piece of Whisper White, stamped the larger splatter using Pumpkin Pie, the smaller in Bermuda Bay and the diagonal stripes in StazOn Jet Black.  I added a strip of Basic Black along the side and added to the card base using Dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using StazOne Jet Black on Pumpkin Pie and added using dimensionals.

How fun is this??  Clean and simple!
