Topsy Turvy Celebrations

TSSC266Happy Saturday everyone!  A while back a did a cute butterfly card using this layout and thought I’d use the layout again for this card.  I also made a little favor for Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions that matches this.  You can see that HERE.

The base of the card is Daffodil Delight.  I took a piece of the chevron print from Parker’s Prints and added to the card base.  Next I took a piece of Basic Black and used the Adorning Accents Edgelit on it.  I embossed Celebrate using Black embossing powder, added banners (the large one from Bitty Banners) in both Daffodil Delight and Basic Black then added a Daffodil button using Whisper White Bakers Twine.  I stamped the cake parts in Daffodil Delight, layered and added to the card front using dimensionals then stamped the bow and the flowers using Versamark and embossed with Black embossing powder, cut out and added to the cake.  Finally I added some basic rhinestones to finish things off.

Feel Goods

CCMC251Happy Thursday everyone!  It’s time again for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  I thought I’d say ‘good-bye’ to a couple of things!

The base of the card is Baja Breeze.  I took another piece of Baja Breeze, ran it through the Clouds Embossing Folder and added to the card base.  I took three strips of this flower print from the Summer Smooches dsp and added to the base.  I wanted to have some fun with greeting so I inked it with Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, and Baja Breeze markers, stamped on Whisper White, layered onto Rich Razzleberry and added to the card base using dimensionals.  I punched the larger butterfly using the Elegant Butterfly and Melon Mambo and the smaller one a print from Summer Smooches and the Bitty Butterfly punch.  I added these to the greeting then added rhinestones to the butterflies and to the card base on the Baja Breeze to finish it off.

Ink: Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango

Swallowtail

Swallowtail 3 closedIt’s time for another SUO challenge and the challenge is BUTTERFLIES!!  Okay…come on now…can it get ANY EASIER THAN THAT!  I don’t think so!  You all know how I love the Swallowtail stamp so just couldn’t resist it for this challenge!  This does have a bit of a fun opening so I’ll that in a minute.

The base of the card is Pool Party 4 1/4 x 11 and I folded to create a ‘gate fold’ in the front.  I added a Whisper White Scallop Trim edge to the right panel then added a piece for the Pool Party Polka Dotted dsp over it.  Next I stamped the swallowtail using versamark on Whisper White and embossed using the Pool Party Embossing Powder!

Swallowtail 3 openI add the butterfly to the RIGHT panel.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Grey and Pool Party, and cut into a banner.  Next I made a ‘bow’ (click the tutorial link above to see how I make my ‘bows’) using Pool Party Seam Binding and a White Brad.  I added the bow to the banner then attached the banner to the card front.

So how fun is this!  I just love the pretty soft colors of this and the different opening!

Friendly Phrases

CAS219The CAS challenge was to pick a card to CASE from Bonnie’s (bon2stamp) gallery.  I picked this one here.  And then the Paper Players challenge this week is to create a mother’s day card.  So…I put those two together and here is what I came up with.

The base of the card is Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Chevron Embossing Folder, layered strips of Wisteria Wonder to each side and added to the card base.  Nice I cute an oval out, stamped the greeting with Wisteria Wonder and sponged around the oval with the same colors.  I added this using dimensionals.  I made the flowers using the Blossoms Party Die for the Wisteria Wonder parts, the smallest Boho Blossom Punch for the Whisper White part and then Wisteria Wonder printed brads.  I added the flowers to the card front to finish it off.

I never think to use the Wisteria Wonder…and I like purple!  I just had a lot of the brads so thought is would be fun to use them!

Set(s): Friendly Phrases
Paper: Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
Other: Blossom Party Die, Boho Blossom Punch, Incolor Printed Brad, Ovals Framelits, Chevron Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

I Care

I CareOld meets new!  One of my most favorite word sets that Stampin’ Up! has EVER produced was a hostess set called “Best Yet”.  I just LOVED that set and it is one that I just will never get rid of.  The CASology theme this week is ‘CARE’ and I immediately thought of this greeting.

The base of the card is Whisper White.  I took a piece of the new incolor Crisp Cantaloupe and stamped the greeting using Basic Grey and Calypso Coral.  I layered this onto Calypso Coral and then pierced a heart.  This is panel is layered on the base using dimensionals.  The flower is made from Whisper White using the Blossom Party Die, then the smallest flower on the Boho Blossom Punch in Calypso Coral and a Calypso Coral printed brad to hold it all together.   This is added to the card using glue dots.

Just think…NEW CATALOG IS COMING!!!

Set(s): Best Yet (hostess retired)
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe
Ink: Calypso Coral, Basic Grey
Other: Blossom Party Die, Boho Blossom Punch, Incolor Printed Brad, Occasions Paper Piercing Template, Dimensionals

Moving Forward

RMHCI am going to miss this delightful Ronald McDonald House Charity set!  I think it is one of the CUTEST ones we ever had!  I decided to pair it up with the This and That Washi Tape.  This is a card we did as a make and take at a workshop in April.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake.  I took a piece of Whisper White, layered onto Calypso Coral then added to the card front.  Next I added strips of each of the three different This and That Washi Tapes…LOVE ‘EM!!!!  I inked the bike using Calypso Coral and Basic Grey markers then the little flowers are Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake, punched with the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch.  This is added to a Basic Grey large scallop from the Pennant Die then added to the card front using dimensionals.
