Swallowtail

TSSCIt’s official …I…. LOVE… THIS… STAMP!!!  No…SERIOUSLY!!!  This is just such a perfect stamp for so many occasions!  And what is the occasion today?  Well…it’s time for another Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.

Such a simple card.  The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder.  I took another piece of Wisteria Wonder, stamped the butterfly in Versamark, white embossed, then rubbed Wisteria Wonder ink over it to accent it more.  I layered this on a piece of Whisper White.  Next I stamped with Love using Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant markers on Whisper White, punched with 1″ Circle Punch, layered  onto 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle from Wisteria Wonder dotted dsp using a dimension, took a Whisper White Oval, ran through the Chevron Embossing Folder, added an Elegant Eggplant Modern Label Punch. I punched 1/8″ holes on each side, added a Whisper White Stitch Grosgrain ribbon, wrapped around and tied on the front.  I added the with love piece using dimensionals then added the panel to the card front using dimensionals.

TSSC251So here’s the sketch for today.  You can see although the overall look is the same, I changed mine up a bit.  Why not join the fun?  We’d love to have you play along!  Don’t forget to check out the other members of the team and remember go to the Technostamper blog to play along!

Spring Sampler

Create Spring Sat Challenges 010We have come to the end of Week 4 of Create with Connie and Mary Spring Edition 2013 and time for another Saturday challenge!  This week…it’s a fun color challenge.  Since we were focused on nature and spring this week, I decided to use some flowers on mine.

I just LOVE blue and yellow together so decided to use my Hearts a Flutter Framelit to make these cute tags in the 4 colors:  Not Quite Navy, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight.  I stamped the flower from the Spring Sampler set in Versmark on each and embossed in white.  Then I took the coordinating color ink and rubbed over the embossed image to make them stand out a little more.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White, stamped the HELLO from the Oh, Hello set in Not Quite Navy, added the tags using White Brads, made a bow (click the tutorial tab above for how I make my ‘bows’) using Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and a White brad, added to the panel then added the panel to the card base using dimensionals.  Yep…that’s all there is to it!  Oh…doesn’t it feel like spring?

Million-Dollar Moments

CASologyI found a new CAS challenge site called CASology where each week it is a theme and it looks like, from what I saw, the theme is a word.  Well the theme is RED.  What can I say…I couldn’t resist that one!  Here’s my CAS card for that challenge.

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White, stamped the silhouette in Sahara Sand, the flowers in Real Red and the greeting in Real Red.  I used the oval piercing template from the Occasions Paper Piercing Pack.  I stamped the silhouette again using Real Red on a separate piece of Whisper White and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut out the boots and glued onto the card front then added the umbrella using dimensionals.  I have to say, this just turned out so FUN!!!

Set(s): Million-Dollar Moments, Made for You
Paper: Whisper White
Ink: Sahara Sand, Real Red

Feel Goods

DSC00576This week the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge is a fun and simple Sketch Challenge.  I’ve been playing around with the Swallowtail stamp.  I have to say, when I saw the stamp in the mini…did NOT like it!  Now that I’ve been playing with it a bit…LOVE IT!!!  I was soooo happy with this card!

The base of the card is Natural Cream.  I stamped the Swallowtail using Crumb Cake, added a piece of the flower print from Tea for Two dsp than a piece of the Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon.  I inked the greeting from Feel Goods using Old Olive and Primrose Petals and stamped on the card front.  I stamped the leaves from the Oh Hello flower using Old Olive, cut out and added to the top.  Finally I took 3 of the Vanilla Flower Trim, colored the tops using Primrose Petal then added to the card front to finish it off.  This really isn’t my usual style but I must say…LOVE IT!!!

conmarspring13promoIt’s week 4 of Create with Connie and Mary Spring Edition 2013 and this week we are using the ‘nature’ inspired sets in the mini…yep that’s why I used the Swallowtail!  For $34.95 you will have access to 30 FABULOUS projects each for a full downloadable tutorial!  Needing ideas for the products in the Spring Mini?  Yep…that’s what we are all about!
