Madison Avenue

Jan Thurs Create 010WOW…it’s the last Thursday in January already and we are into our 2nd week of Create with Connie and Mary Spring Mini and this week it’s a Sale-a-bration as we focus on the items in the Sale-a-bration brochure!  Since we are using SAB items for our projects, I thought I’d use a SAB set for my Thursday card.

I LOVE this sketch…just a little different take on an old favorite.  The base of the card is Island Indigo 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  I took another piece of the Island Indigo and ran it through the Vine Street Embossing Folder then added to the card front.  I did two Tangerine Tango Zig Zags from the Tasteful Trim XL Die and added to the card front.  Next I added the 4 panels from the Sycamore Street dsp pack using dimensionals.  The one flower is Island Indigo ink on Tangerine Tango with Pool Party Button and the other is Midnight Muse ink on Island Indigo with Tangerine Tango button.  The buttons are added using Baker’s Twine.  The flowers are cut out with Floral Frames Framelits.  I stamped the happy birthday in Island Indigo on Pool Party, cut into a banner and added to the card front to finish it off.

Set(s): Madison Avenue (SAB)
Paper: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, Sycamore Street dsp (SAB)
Ink: Island Indigo, Midnight Muse
Other: Whisper White Baker’s Twine, Vine Street Emobssing Folder (SAB), Sycamore Street Buttons (SAB), Floral Frames Framelits, Tasteful Trim XL Die, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Oh, Whale!

DSC00573Just a quick note here…I decided to do a card for the SCS sketch challenge today (I just couldn’t resist) and then have to head out to school!

The base of the card is Pink Pirouette.  I took a strip of the Melon Mambo print from Sunshine and Sprinkles and added a Pacific Point banner and a ‘whale’ banner.  I tied a piece of the Pretty in Pink Stitched Grosgrain around it and added to the card front.  I stamped two ‘waves’ in Pool Party on a piece of Whisper White and added the greeting in Basic Black.  This is added to the card front using dimensionals.  Next I stamped the whale in Melon Mambo, cut out and added using dimensionals.  I did the ‘spouting water’ in Pacific Point and added using a dimensional then did the ‘wave’ in Pacific Point and added using a dimesnsional.  I finished it off with some basic rhinestones.  Oh…the whale’s eye…I colored a rhinestone with a black sharpie before adding!

DSC00571I’m so excited…Mary Jo is restarting her Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge.  I’ve missed these and am glad she is back to doing them.  She has some new folks on her design team and I’m excited that she is back.

My card is sort of Secret Garden meet Sycamore Street (SAB).  The base of the card is Rich Razzleberry and I ran it through the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  Next I added a piece of the Sycamore Street dsp, cut out an oval, stamped the greeting using Rich Razzleberry and Summer Starfruit, added to the card front and tied some Tangerine Tango Scallop Polka Dotted Ribbon around it.  I did the small solid flower in Summer Starfruit and Pool Party and the large flower in Rich Razzleberry and cut out with the Secret Garden Framelits.  I stamped the small flower again in Rich Razzleberry and punched out using the Bitty Circle Punch in the Bitty Punch Pack.  I added all the flowers to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I tied a piece of Whisper White Baker’s Twine onto one of the Sycamore Street Button and added to the center to the large flower using a glue dot.

Bloomin’ Marvelous

DSC00567The inspiration challenge this week is an Etsy store called Octo-purse.  I was just cruising through this when I saw this cute little purse.  I love when looking at it, it looked like the butterflies and circle spelled WOW.  Then I saw this cute little purse and loved the colors so you put the two together and you get my card!

Some quick notes…the base of the card is Whisper White.  I added a Pacific Point Banner and a Tempting Turquoise Banner.  Next I took another piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Clouds Embossing Folder then added to the card front using dimensionals.  I then made a banner out of Gumball Green, added a strip of Pacific Point, cut into a banner and add to the card front.  I stamped the “you’re the best” using Basic Black on Whisper White then cut out using the Label Framelit.  I tied on the Turquoise button using Whisper White Bakers Twine and added the label to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the butterfly from Bloomin’ Marvelous using Gumball Green and Pacific Point, punched with the Bitty Butterfly and added to the card front using glue dots.

Window Pane Video

Welcome everyone to another edition of StamperCamper’s Video Corner!  I just love adding window panes to my cards and am often asked how I do it.  I’ve created this tutorial just for you.  The first part of the tutorial is how to make the window pane.  That lasts about 1 1/2 minutes.  I’ve been asked by some folks to show how I make my cards so the rest of this video just shows me putting the Bee Happy card together and I give the dimension for each of the layers.

To find out more about these other cards I have made using the window pane technique, just click on the card and it will take you to the post describing it.

Bee Happy

DSC00565So it is COLD and SNOWING outside…YUCK!!!  But the really nice thing is that I can stay inside and stay warm today.  I am so happy for that!

I got a new computer yesterday…WOOO HOOO!!!  So far this is just WONDERFUL!!!  So I’m trying out my programs I’ve downloaded and loading up pictures and all that good stuff.  So far…so good!

On Wednesday I did this fun little card and I thought I’d use the same sketch (with a little twist) for a card to warm you up for today.  Some quick notes…

The base of the card is Daffodil Delight 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  I took another piece of Daffodil Delight, ran it through the Hexagon Embossing Folder and added to the card base.  Next I took a piece of Daffodil Delight Polka Dotted dsp, layered it onto a piece of Basic Black then added to the card base (on an angle) using dimensionals.  I punched out four 1 1/4″ Scallop Circles from a piece of Whisper White and added to the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped 4 bees from the Spring Sampler set using Basic Black on Whisper White, colored with the Daffodil Delight Marker, added some Dazzling Details to the wings, LET DRY, then punched out using the 3/4″ Circle punch.  I added three using dimensionals.  For the last one I stamped happy from the A Word for You set using Basic Black on Daffodil Delight and cut out using the large banner framelit, I added a second large banner in Basic Black, trimmed off the one side and added behind the 4th bee.  I then added this to the card front to finish it off.

Bitty Butterflies

SC420 Butterflies 001I just love the simple sketch for the SCS Sketch Challenge this week.  This was one of those times that as soon as I saw it, I knew exactly what I wanted to do!  It’s a quick little CAS card so here’s the details…

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Chevron Embossing Folder and added it to the base.  Next I took a piece of Whisper White and punched four 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle ‘windows’ in there.  How do I get them so even?  Click on the tutorial link above and check out my tutorial.  I layered this onto a piece of Melon Mambo Polka Dotted paper then onto the card front using dimensionals.  I punched out 4 Bitty Butterflies from Whisper White and added to the card front using dimensionals (yep…lots of dimensionals!) then added a small rhineston on each.  Finally it stamped the hello from the Pretty Petites (SAB) stamp in Basic Black on Whisper White and Melon Mambo and punched with small ticket on the Ticket Duo punch, added a mini silver brad than added to the card front using a glue dot.

conmarspring13promoHow fun is that!  And speaking of fun, we just started the Create with Connie and Mary Spring Edition 2013!  We have a FABULOUS design team and are featuring products from the Spring Mini and the SAB brochure.  The designers are already starting to upload all their projects for the sessions and WOW…such a variety!
