Watercolor Winter

CAS 201 001The CAS challenge is a very pretty Christmas photo that has lovely country candles on it.  I do not have any Christmas style candle images to use but went instead with the feel of the photo (which for me was the Peace on Earth) and the greenery and berries.  I kept my card very simple with the holly and berry sprigs and a simple label.

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Very Vanilla.  I took another piece of Very Vanilla and added to the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting in Riding Hood Red and Always Artichoke, punched with the Decorative Label and added using dimensionals.  Next I stamped the outline image using StazOn JetBlack and then the colored in parts using Always Artichoke and Riding Hood Red.  I cut these out (yes, I am crazy!) and added to the card front to finish it off.

Set(s): Watercolor Winter, Greetings of the Season
Paper: Very Vanilla
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Riding Hood Red, Always Artichoke
Other: Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals

Christmas Bow

Here is another of the cards I did for the CAS 200th celebration last weekend.  The challenge was to use ribbon and bows on your card.  Lately I’ve been into making paper bows (got the template from My Digital Studio – LOVE IT!!!)  This is such a quick and easy card!

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I took a print from the Be of Good Cheer dsp added to the bottom and rounded the corners.  I added a piece of the Cherry Cobbler dsp from the same pack along the top.  I inked the greeting using Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler markers and stamped on card front.  I traced my template on the dsp, cut out, added a Gumball Green Dahlia to the center then added to the card front to finish it off.  Yep…it was THAT easy!

Set(s): More Merry Message
Paper: Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer dsp
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
Other: Corner Rounder, Incolor Dahlias, My Digital Studio (where I got the pattern for the bow)

Cupcake Celebration

Does the layout look familiar?  LOL…yep…it was another card for my sketch challenge on SCS this past weekend.  Actually on this card I put several of the challenges together.  The challenges used on here were my sketch challenge, have a ‘sweet treat’ as the main image on your card, color challenge of Real Red, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and something sprarkly, and use an old party set (this one has been neglected sitting on my shelf).  So you put all those challenge together and this was what I came up with.

The base of the card is Crumb Cake.  I pierced an Oval (sneak peek!) on a piece of Very Vanilla, layered onto Real Red then the card front.  I did the cupcake ‘paper’ in Crumb Cake, stamped the bow in Real Red and punched with the cupcake punch.  The ‘icing’ was stamped in Real Red with Chocolate Chip ‘sprinkles’, punch with the cupcake punch, added to the the base then added to the card front (top one is on dimensionals).  I next added a strip of Silver Glimmer paper, stamped the greeting in Chocolate Chip on Real Red, punched with the Decorative Label punch, then added to the card front using dimensionals.  I finished off the card with a Basic Rhinestone added to each bow on the cupcake.  What FUN challenges we had this past weekend!

Set(s): Create a Cupcake
Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Real Red, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Other: Occasions Paper Piercing Template, Decorative Label Punch, Build a Cupcake Punch, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Happy Christmas

This was a card we did as a make and take.  I promised my folks I would not only post it on my blog but also do a video (click here to access video) on how to make the paper pierced frame so they would have it as a reference.

The base of the card is Pool Party.  I took a piece of Whisper White and created the pierced frame using the Festive Paper Piercing pack and the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. I added this to the card base.  Next I did medium snowflakes in Pool Party and Whisper White, small snowflake in Silver Glimmer, Silver Brad in the center and add to card front.  I stamped greeting in Versamark on Pool Party, silver embossed, punched with Decorative Label Punch and added using dimensionals to finish off.  Oh…such a simple card!

Evergreen

Oh…what a wonderful challenge we have for you on Create with Connie and Mary this week!  Last year we did a White and Silver challenge and it was just beautiful.  So this year we are doing a Very Vanilla and Champagne Glimmer challenge!

I decided to make a little winter scene for you using these two colors.  The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I took another piece of Very Vanilla, rand it through the Polka Dotted Embossing Folder and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I punched a 2 1/2 Champagne Glimmer circle and added to the card front.  Next I ripped some Very Vanilla and Champagne Glimmer strips to make the ‘snow’. I stamped the the loopy tree 3 times in Versamark, gold embossed, and cut out.  I added the two bottom ones directly to the card front and the top one using dimensionals.  I added some 1/4″ Champagne Glimmer circles as decorations and embossed the star in gold then punched with the start Merry Minis punch.  Finally I embossed the greeting in gold on Very Vanilla, punched with the large oval then added to the card using dimensionals to finish it off.

Set(s): Evergreen, More Merry Messages
Paper: Very Vanilla, Champagne Glimmer
Ink: Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Large Oval Punch, Merry Minis Punch Pack, 2 1/2″ Circle Punch, 1/4″ Circle Punch, Polka Dotted Embossing Powder, Dimensionals

The samples from the design team are just GORGEOUS so make sure you check them out!  Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Evergreen

Now nothing is better than a glittery Christmas card and the SUO Challenge this time is do glitter!  Now when it comes to glitter I DO NOT LIKE THE LOOSE STUFF!!!  It drives me NUTS as it gets into EVERYTHING!!!  But I do LOVE the Glimmer Paper and I featured that on this pretty Christmas card (and speaking of Glimmer…come back Thursday for another cool glimmer card!)

So the base of the card is Whisper White.  I took another piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder and added to the card front.  Next I added two strips of the Silver Glimmer Paper.  I took a piece of Whisper White, ran the top part through the Apothecary Accents Framelit, stamped the loopy tree from Evergreen and Silver Embossed, added a Silver Glimmer Star (Merry Mini Punch Pack), then added a ‘bow’ (click on my tutorial link above) made from Whisper White Organza Ribbon and a Silver Glimmer Brad.   The panel is added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting in versamark, silver embossed, punched with the Modern Label Punch and added to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.

Set(s): Evergreen, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Whisper White, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Versaark

Let’s Celebrate

WOOO HOOO!!!  Let’s Celebrate!  This weekend we are celebrating the 200th Clean and Simple Challenge on SCS!  How fun is that!  I volunteered to hostess a challenge and mine is a sketch challenge based on this card I made especially for the celebration!

I’ve also made a video on how I do the pierced frames using different templates on the same frame.  Click here to check out my video!

The base of the card is So Saffron.  I took a piece of Whisper White, pierced a frame in it, layered it onto Sahara Sand then added to the card front.  I stamped the glasses in So Saffron and Basic Grey, cut out and added to the card front.  Next I added a strip of Silver Glimmer.  I stamped Celebrate in Basic Grey on So Saffron, punched with the Decorative Label Punch then added to the card front using dimensionals.  I added some Basic Pearls to create the ‘bubbly’!  So if you want to have some fun…join us as we celebrate this weekend!

You’re Amazing

We are having a Clean and Simple PARTY over on SCS this weekend to celebrate our 200th (yep…200th!!!) challenge.  Denise (our challenge mom) is asked some of the past CAS design team to come up with a challenge … 10 in all!  WOOO HOOO!!!  My challenge is tomorrow but this is a card I made for one of the challenges today.  If you LOVE the CAS style or just trying to get into in…come on over and join the fun!  You are bound to be inspired!

This was one as real challenge (at least for me) so I decided it would be fun to do.  The challenge was to spell PARTY on your card by having items on your card to represent each letter in the word.  So…here’s how I spelled party…

  • P – Pool Party
  • A – the word Amazing
  • R – two here….Rich Razzleberry and Rhinestones
  • T – Tangerine Tango
  • Y – the word You’re

I had such a tough time coming up with the A and the Y until I saw this stamp.  So this is how I spell PARTY!!!  I think it is pretty straight forward…the stars are from the Merry Minis Punch Pack.

Set(s): You’re Amazing
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry
Other: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Silver Brads, Merry Minis Punch Pack, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY Stampin’!

Apothecary Accents Treat Holder

I just love making these quick and easy treat holders.  Although this is for Christmas, you could easily change up the paper and make a treat for any special occasion.  What to see the details on the two I have posted?  Click on each of the pictures below to take you to the post for that project.
