Christmas Blessings

When I first saw this stamp set in the new catalog I just fell in love with the pretty images!  I also thought how pretty this would be using just Very Vanilla and gold.  I was fight!  I LOVE how this card turned out.  I did this card for a Control Freak Swap for Christmas cards.

This is one of my favorite things to do with a card…make it look like  an odd size when it is really a normal size card.  The base of the card is 3 1/4 x 11 folder.  I took another piece of Very Vanilla, ran it through the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder and added to the card front.  I embossed the greeting on the bottom using Gold Embossing Folder.  I took a piece of Champagne Glimmer paper, cut into a banner and added to the card front.  I cut out a panel using the Apothecary Accents framelits, stamped the poinsettia image in Versamark and gold embossed, added a gold brad to the top then added the banner to the card front using dimensionals.

Such a simple card but oh so elegant!

Stylin’ Snowfolk

Did you know that Connie and I are at it again?  This time we are are doing Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions…3 week of cards, cards and more cards!  45 in all!  And how can you find out more?  Well FIRST…you want to go and check out my friend Connie’s Inkspired Treasures Blog.  Why?  Well…she is showing a FABULOUSLY CUTE card set using Stylin’ Snowfolk AND…can you say BLOG CANDY???  Yep…so you really want to head over there!  Oh…I should also mention she has a GREAT project sheet on her cards too!  But you can find out about all that at Connie’s place.

Oh…this was one of those sets that I had a GREAT idea for a swap I needed to do for convention.  So when my friend Connie said that she was going to use this set for her Card “Create”tions Preview set, I was so excited to make a card to go along as a bonus to her set!

The base of the card is Baja Breeze.  I took the Island Indigo dotted print and the Cherry Cobbler Chevron print from the Festive pack and the Snowflake print from Snow Festive print pack for my banners then I added a piece of the Silver Glimmer paper for a little bling to my guy.  I stamped the snowman on Watercolor paper (and the arms, eyeglasses, mustache and arms) using StazOn Jet Black.  I did the hat in black and Cherry Cobbler, bird in Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, and Basic Black and bow tie in Cherry Cobbler, cut them out and added to the snowman.  Oh…I just drew the eyes in there with an Island Indigo marker.  I cut this out with the Label Framelit.  I stamped the greeting in Basic Black on Cherry Cobbler, cut into a banner and added to the card to finish it off.

So…here’s what you have to do…head over to Connie’s site and leave a comment to be entered into her BLOG CANDY!!!  Then you can head over to Create with Connie and Mary to get her GREAT Project Sheet and sign up for Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions.  See…isn’t that easy?

Evergreen Class

WELCOME TO MY NEW BLOG!!!  I am sooooooo excited to have you all here!  Isn’t this new look WONDERFUL?  I absolutely LOVE IT!!!  And the really cool thing?  Julie (of Webics Designs) has designed 3 looks for me – one for Fall (GORGEOUS!!!) and coming soon – Winter followed by my Spring/Summer look!  I can’t wait!  Then Randy (my DH) found this cool blog template for me so…I am rocking!

To ‘kick things off’ I am going to share not only some fun cards (and a little 3D) using the Evergreen set, but also a quick and easy pdf that has ALL the instructions in there!  Now…please don’t think I’ll be doing this all the time – NOT!  These were my projects that I did for my upline’s meeting in September.  We were asked to pick a set and create 3 cards and 1 small 3D item.  Since I just {heart} this set, I couldn’t wait to use it for my mnts for her meeting.

Since I liked this sooooo much I thought I’d just hold off showing these until it was time to ‘unveil’ my new blog!  So TA-DA!!!!  New blog and fun Evergreen sampler set!

Want to see the individual pictures and download my instruction sheet?  I thought so!  Here you go…

Merry Mini Favor

I hope you have enjoyed my week of the Merry Mini set.  Well since the week is not over, I still have ONE MORE for you.

This is a fun little favor that I made to go with my card set.  We did this as a mnt at my workshop in October.  I got the idea from p 10 of the Holiday Mini.  It really is such a simple favor.  The base is the Fancy Favor box.  I score down 1 1/4” from the top and cut out all but the flap.  I added a piece of Whisper White under the flap so the decoration shows.  I did the 1 1/4” Scallop Circle in Champagne Glimmer and a 1” Whisper White Circle.  I stamped merry Christmas using Early Espresso on Lucky Limeade and punched out using Word Window punch.  I stamped the tree using Lucky Limeade and Early Espresso, punched with the mini Christmas tree punch and added using dimensionals.  I used half of a Velcro tab for the closure.

Merry Minis – Last One!

So…I did want to show each of the individual cards in my Merry Minis card set for the Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions Edition.  Check out Create with Connie and Mary to learn more!

I will have to say, of the three I made with this set, this one was my favorite!  First I LOVE Pool Party as a Christmas color and then I just LOVE the CAS (clean and simple) look of this!  The base of the card is Pool Party, I took another layer of Pool party, stamped the greeting and embossed with silver embossing powder, layered on Whisper White then used the Festive paper piercing template to pierce an ornament on there.  I added the ornament ‘string’ just be doing straight lines.  I added this panel to the card front using   I stamped the flourishy little ornament using Pool Party on Whisper White three times, punched with the ornament Merry Mini punch and then 3 Silver Glimmer ornaments too.  I made itty bitty bows from the Pool Party/Whisper White Baker’s twine and glued them on the ornament.  Okay…you wanted to know WHERE I used the SILVER GLIMMER PEN????  Well I used that to draw the ‘strings’ from the ornaments to the Merry Christmas Greeting.  Look closely!

Evergreen – A Sketch Challenge

There is such a wonderful sketch on Create with Connie and Mary this week!  I like when we try ‘something new’ and diagonals are definitely not something we have in our sketches very often!

Didn’t this turn out pretty?  I thought so too!  The base of the card is Lucky Limeade.  I would LOVE to tell you the name of the dsp I used on this but I am writing this while I am away from home, I do not have my catalog or mini and I am tooooooo tired to look up the information.  However, it is NOT Snow Festival or the Festive paper pack.  It’s the one with the Red Flocked paper in there.  I’m SURE you can find it from THAT description!  LOL!!!  I layered an Early Espresso Ribbon Lace Strip under it and a champagne glitter strip about it.  I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and a Very Vanilla brad, added it to the diagonal panel then added this to the card front. I stamped the tree in Lucky Limeade (with a little Early Espresso for the trunk) on Very Vanilla cardstock, that gold embossed the loopy Christmas tree on top of it.  This is layered onto Early Espresso then onto the card front using dimensionals to finish it off.  The greeting is from Petite Pairs and was stamped in Early Espresso.  The star was punched from the Champagne Glimmer paper using the little start punch from the Merry Mini punch set.

Set(s): Evergreen, Petite Pairs
Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Lucky Limeade, Champagne Glimmer & the dsp from Holiday Mini that is NOT Snow Festival or Festive
Ink: Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Versamark
Other: Gold Embossing Powder, Ribbon Lace Punch, Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Neutral Brads, Merry Mini Punch Pack, Dimensionals.

Merry Minis

On Monday I posted a card from my Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions set which used the Merry Minis set.  You all LOVE it so I thought I’d share another of the three here today.

Here is one of the other cards I made for my Merry Minis card set.  This is pretty basic just using the fun tree image from the Merry Mini set and I just LOVE the cute tree dsp from the Snow Festival set.  Once I finished this card and was looking at my finished card I thought to myself how CUTE this would have also been if I had used the ornament stamp image (and matching punch of course) and that cute ornament paper in the Snow Festival paper pack.  Now wouldn’t that be CUTE?  Well if you would like to do that and would like to know all the supplies and measurements for this card ( so you can recreate it), check out my post on Create with Connie and Mary.  There I have a downloadable file with all the information for this card including the measurements!  Yep…it’s all there.

Oh…while you are there…check out Connie and my new adventure…Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions!  Three fun filled weeks filled with cards, cards and even more cards!

Frosty Friends

Oh…it’s been awhile since I was able to do Mary Jo’s sketch challenge.  When I saw this sketch my first reaction was ‘oh my’ but I tweaked it a little and it really worked!

The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler.  I took the blue/red print from the Festive Paper pack and added to the card front.  Next I took the chevron print (which is the backside of that paper), cut into a banner and added to the card base.  I added a little strip of Silver Glimmer.  I stamped the image using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor paper, cut with the Label Framelit, colored with Cherry Cobbler and Bashful Blue (and a little Pink Pirouette) markers, sponged using Cherry Cobbler, added some Dazzling Details and Basic Rhinestones and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using Basic Black on Bashful Blue, cut into a banner, sponged in Bashful Blue and added to the card front using dimensionals and glue dots.

Set(s): Frosty Friends, Sweet Essentials
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Festive dsp paper pack, Silver Glimmer, Watercolor
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette
Other: Dazzling Details, Label Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Merry Christmas Birdie

It’s Tuesday and time for another SUO Challenge.  The theme this time is Any Kind of Animal.  I don’t have any animal sets right now and figured birds are animals and I just LOVE this cute little Merry Christmas bird!

Some quick notes on this.  I used the Clean and Simple sketch for my card.  I just love nice simple cards! The base of the card is Pink Pirouette and I rounded the corners on the bottom.  I took two prints from the Snow Festival dsp pack, cut into strips along with a silver glimmer strip and a piece of Cherry Cobbler.  I added these to the card base.  I stamped the image on Watercolor paper using StazOn Jet Black in and colored with Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Gumball Green markers and blended with a blender pen.  I punched this out with the Decorative Label punch and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I cut out an ornament from the dsp and added that to the tab.  To finish it off I added some Basic Rhinestones.

Set(s): For the Birds
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Cherry Cobbler, Snow Festival dsp, Silver Glimmer, Watercolor
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Gumball Green
Other: Basic Rhinestones, Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals

So check out what the SUO Design Team did with the challenge and join the fun!  Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
