Googly Ghouls

Happy Halloween everyone!  Just wanted to share a cute little card I made for the October Creative Crew on Splitcoast Stampers.  I’m just showing my ‘stepped up’ version as I thought it turned out soooo cute!

The base of the card is Lucky Limeade.  I too a piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Web Embossing Folder, layered it onto Basic Black then to the card front using dimensionals.  I took the oval and circle labels from the Ghoulish Ghouls Designer Kit, turned them over to use the backside and added to the card front.  I took another circle label, colored the edge in Pumpkin Pie, layered onto a 2 3/8″ Basic Black Scallop, added a piece of Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon to a Gold Brad then to the label and added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped Boooo on Pumpkin Pie, cut with Bitty Banners then added to the card front.  Finally I stamped the bat using Basic Black on Whisper White, cute out and added using dimensionals.  I MEANT to add some googlie eyes but forgot before taking my pictures.

Tweet Leaves

The SUO Challenge this time is to make an Elegant Autumn card.  Oooooooo…I love autumn!  But…when I sat down to work on it, somehow traditional autumn colors didn’t seem to appear on my card anywhere…LOL!!!  I wonder how THAT happened!

I do love how this turned it out though and I do love the Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Sahara Sand together.  The base of the card is Island Indigo.  I took a piece of Elegant Eggplant, inked the Argyle Embossing Folder with Elegant Eggplant ink and then ran my paper through that to give it more depth.  I layered this on Sahara Sand then added to the card base.  I added a piece of the newsprint then a piece of Silver Glimmer paper.  I embossed the image on Very Vanilla then sponged the three colors on it.  I curled the ends of the leaves then added to the card front.  I stamped the greeting using Elegant Eggplant on Sahara Sand, cut into a banner, added a ‘bow’ (click on the tutorial tab above to get to that tutorial) from Natural 7/8″ Ribbon and an incolor Printed Brad then added to the card front using glue dots and dimensionals.

Set(s): Tweet Leaves, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Newsprint dsp, Silver Glimmer
Ink: Versamark, Sahara Sand, Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant

Christmas Blessings

This was my ‘must have’ Christmas set as soon as I saw it in the new catalog this year.  I just love the open ‘loopy’ look of the images.  (Shhhhh….don’t tell…this is the set that I’m featuring for my card set this week on Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions!).  I thought this set would be just perfect for the color challenge on SCS today to use Cherry Cobbler, Older Olive and Whisper White with a dessert option of silver.

Just a few quick notes on this…the base of the card is Shimmery White (oh…this is just SOOO pretty in real life!).  I took another piece of Shmmery White, ran it through the Lacey Brocade Embossing Folder, layered on Cherry Cobbler then added to the card base using dimensionals.  I cut some banner from a piece of the Cherry Cobbler/White print in Snow Festival and a silver glimmer banner (these using the Bitty Banner framelit, then cut a piece of the Old Olive Scalloped ribbon for my third one.  I added these to the card front.  I cut a piece of watercolor paper using the Apothecary Accents framelits, stamped the poinsettia using StazOn Jet Black, colored with Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive markers (and a blender pen) and added a silver glimmer brad on top.  I added a piece of the Old Olive Scallop ribbon along the side and added the to card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler markers, cute with the wide oval punch, layered onto a Cherry Cobbler Decorative Label then to the card front.  Oh…such a pretty Christmas card!

Snowflake Soiree

Just a VERY QUICK and easy card for the CAS challenge on SCS today.  The challenge was to do a single layer collage.  I LOVE CAS but this is a difficult one for me.  I decided to do acrylic block stamping and then use some snowflakes (in honor of the FIRST posting of cards on Create with Connie and Mary Card “Create”tions!  Yep…now’s a good time to join…just check out the info on the right and sign up today!

Okay…back to the card.  The base of the card is Whisper White.  I inked up the acrylic block with Pink Pirouette then sponged around the edges in Primrose Petals.  I stamped the largest snowflake in Not Quite Navy (okay…MEANT to do Baja Breeze…oops…wrong pad but liked it!), the medium snowflake in Primrose Petals, the small snowflakes in Cherry Cobbler and Merry in Not Quite Navy (DID mean to do that color!)  To add ‘just a little extra’ I added some Basic Rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes and then just a couple random ones.

And I couldn’t resist it one last time!  (And I still have some of the dsp left…hehehehehe!)  And look…I actually managed to use another print from that pack!  There was this GREAT sketch on The Paper Players today so I just HAD to join the fun!

As always some quick notes on my card…the base of the card is Lucky Limeade.  I took a piece of the Early Espresso print, layered it onto Very Vanilla then added the card base using dimensionals.  Next I took a piece of my very favorite print, added Very Vanilla Ribbon Lace punches to the to and bottom and added to the card front.  Next up was a piece of the Champagne Glimmer, cut into a banner added to strips of Very Vanilla just for a little contrast and added to the card front.  I took a 2 3/8″ Lucky Limeade Scallop Circle, sponged the edges in Lucky Limeade and added to the card front using dimensionals.  The tree was stamped in Lucky Limeade then the Loopy tree was embossed in gold on top, punched with a 1 3/4″ Circle Punch, layered onto an Early Espresso circle then to the card front using dimensionals.  I did a Champagne Glimmer star (Merry Mini punch) added with a glue dot.  Finally I stamped the first two lines of the greeting in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, cut with Bitty Banner Framelit then layered onto a Lucky Limeade banner and added to the card front to finish it off.

Evergreen AGAIN

Can you tell that I LOVE this set?  And I particularly LOVE this set with this dsp?  I found this new challenge site CAS(E) this Sketch and just LOVED the challenge sketch and HAD to join in!

The base of the card is Very Vanilla.  I took a piece of the dsp and punched a 2 1/2″ hole in it.  I added an Early Espresso Large Scallop Edge and a strip of Champagne Glimmer paper, then attached to the card base.  I punched out a 2 3/8″ Early Espresso Scallop and added to the card front.  Next I stamped the tree in Lucky Limeade then embossed the loopy tree on top in gold, punched with the 1 3/4″ circle punch, added to a Champagne Glimmer circle.  I made a bow (click tutorial link above to access tutorial) using Very Vanilla Seam Binding and a Gold Brad, added to the circle than added circle to card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the first two lines from the greeting using Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, cut with Bitty Banner Framelit, layered on Champagne Glimmer banner (same framelit) then to card front using dimensionals and glue dots.  What a fun little card!

Tea Shoppe 2

I was asked to host a “Hope You Can Cling To” challenge on Splitcoaststampers and I would love if you would join me.  You can find the information about my challenge HERE.  For my challenge I decided to honor a friend of mine (and former downline) who lost her battle with cancer in August.  Although hers was not breast cancer, it was still extremely devastating.  Robin was the Post Mistress of a small post office close to my house.  I always went there to do all my swap mailings, we became friends then she joined my downline.  She was one of the nicest people you would ever meet.  She died at the age of 46.  So in honor of Robin, my challenge on SCS is “Let’s Lick This Thing”…using postage stamps, postage stamp punch on your cards.

For my second card I stepped things up just a bit.  I do LOVE this little flower image so decided to use it again.  The base of the card is Wisteria Wonder.  I took another piece of Wisteria Wonder and ran the bottom through the Delicate Designs embossing folder, layered on Whisper White, stamped Green in StazOn Jet Black, made a ‘bow’ (click on tutorial tab above to access my bow tutorial) using Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon and a purple rhinestone brad (retired), added an extra piece of ribbon then wrapped around pane then added to the card base.  I stamped the flower 4 times using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor, colored with Elegant Eggplant and Lucky Limeade, punched with the 1″ Square Punch then layered onto Elegant Eggplant Postage Stamps.  These are added to the card front using dimensionals.

Set(s): Tea Shoppe

For my first card I decided to go very CAS.  The base of the card is Elegant Eggplant.  I took a piece of Whisper White and pierced a double heart on it, layered it onto a piece of Lucky Limeade then to my card front.  I stamped the pretty flower image using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor paper, colored with Elegant Eggplant and Lucky Limeade markers, punched out with the 1” Square Punch, layered on an Elegant Eggplant Postage stamp punch then to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using StazOn Jet Black on Lucky Limeade, cut with the Bitty Banner Framelit then added to the card front using dimensionals.

So please, if you have time, join my challenge.  Once you make  card you then donate that card to a Breast Cancer site in Texas to brighten the day of a person fighting Breast Cancer.  “Let’s Lick This Thing”!

Snow Much Fun

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday challenge!  Don’t you just LOVE ‘EM?  WE DO!!!  Anyway this week we have a fun color challenge:  Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo and Lucky Limeade.  I decided to ‘challenge’ myself some and use these colors with a ‘winter’ image.  Now just because this little dude is a snowman doesn’t mean it HAS to be Christmas!  LOL!!!

This is a very simple card.  The base of the card is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Whisper White (folded).  I added three piece of dotted dsp – one in each of the challenge colors.  Next I took some Basic Grey Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon an tied it around the card.  I cut out a window frame in Whisper White and pierced around the edges.  This is added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the snowman using StazOn Jet Black on Watercolor, colored with markers, cut out (yes, I am NUTS enough to cut this little dude out!) then added to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using the StazOn Jet Black on Daffodil Delight, cut out with the Bitty Banner Framelit and added to the card front using dimensionals.  It’s tough to see in the paper but I added some Dazzling details to the snowman and then also did random dots of this on the dotted paper for just a little bling!
