Topsy Turvy

WOO HOOO!!!  It’s another Saturday so that means we have come to the end of another INCREDIBLE week of Create with Connie & Mary New Catalog Edition 2012!  On Saturdays we hold a challenge for our subscribers and the design team shares their projects with everyone.  This wee we have a fun sketch!

This was just such a fun sketch to work with!  The base of the card is So Saffron.  I took a piece of Whisper White, ran it through the Striped Embossing Folder then added to the card base.  I cut three banners from the World Spectacular dsp pack and added to the card base.  I punched a 2 3/8″ scallop circle from the dsp and added using dimensionals, a 1 3/4″ circle from Whisper White, sponged with Early Espresso and added to the Scallop Circle using Dimensionals, the bottom of the crown/Island Indigo, and top of crown, Calypso Coral and added using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting on Cherry Cobbler using Early Espresso, cut into a banner and added using dimensionals.  Some rhinestones were added to the crown to finish it off.

Belated Birthday

What a happy color combo!  I love the Basic Grey in there because it seems to just balance those two bright colors!  Since we are having a ‘nature’ theme on the Create with Connie and Mary New Catalog Edition, I thought I’d go a little ‘nature’ myself with the adorable snail from the Button Buddies set!  (But remember…in the Create with Connie and Mary New Catalog Edition…we are featuring the NEW sets and products!)

The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Pumpkin Pie with a piece of the Basic Grey striped dsp added to the bottom.  I stamped the Happy Birthday from Bring on the Cake in Basic Grey and colored in with my Basic Grey, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie markers.  I stamped the sorry I’m late from the Easy Events set in Real Red then cut this out with a Layered Label Framelit.  I punched a Real Red Word Window piece, cut in half and added to the sides of the label using the silver Mini Brads and then added this to the card front.  I stamped the snail in Basic Grey, cut out, added a Real Red button using Whisper White Baker’s Twine then added to the card front using dimensionals to finish it off!

Serene Silhouettes

I’m REALLY trying to like this yellow.  No…really I am…but it’s just not a color I am drawn to and I find it a little difficult to work with.  I do like this print from the Comfort Cafe pack so thought I’d trying using that for my inspiration.

The base of the card is Summer Starpuck…oops…starfruit!  (My darn fingers keep typing that wrong!)  I stamped the Serene Silhouette image using Soft Suede.  I took two strips of the dsp, layered onto Soft Suede then the card front.  I took a piece of Cajun Craze, added Soft Suede Ribbon Lace punch under it, stamped the greeting from Sweet Essentials using Soft Suede and Cajun Craze onto Very Vanilla, cut into a banner, added to the Cajun Craze piece then added a Neutrals Button using Linen Thread.  This panel is added to the card front using dimensionals to finish things off!
