Flower Fest

So…here’s my second card for the CAS challenge on SCS to use white and shades of blue.  I haven’t done this technique in AGES and just had sooooo much fun!  I honestly couldn’t pick between the two as to which one I liked best!

So although this has a lot more going on in it, I still has a very clean look!  The base of the card is 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 Whisper White.  I took another piece of the Whisper White and used the oval Designer Frame Embossing Folder on it, wrapped a piece of the Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon around it, layered to another piece of Whisper White using dimensionals and then to the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the greetings using Marina Mist, punched with the Wide Oval punch then added to the oval frame using dimensionals.  Finally I stamped the flower image using Versamark on Shimmery White and White Embossing.  Then I used the floating watercolor technique using Bashful Blue and Marina Mist reinkers to color the flowers.  Once the flowers were dry (okay…I helped it along a bit with the embossing gun) I cut them out and added using dimensionals to finish it off!

Set(s): Flower Fest, Petite Pairs
Paper: Whisper White, Shimmery White
Ink: Versamark, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist
Other: Designer Frames Embossing Folder, White Embossing Powder, Wide Oval Punch, Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Flower Fest

This is one of two posts I’m doing this evening with this set so make sure you check out my other card.  The CAS challenge on SCS is to use shades of blue and white.  My problem was I immediately thought of two different cards to make for this so I decided to make both (which is why there are the two posts tonight!)

Talk about CAS and quick and easy…MY WORD…it doesn’t get any easier than this.  The base of the card is Bashful Blue.  I took the flower from the Flower Fest and stamp using Versamark and embossed with White embossing powder.  I also stamped the greeting using Versamark and white embossed.  Next I took Bashful Blue ink and sponged the centers of flowers to make them pop.  I finished it off by tying a piece of Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon around it.

Happy Birthday

Today is the Featured Stamper on SCS and it’s one of my favorite stampers HSKelly.  I LOVE her CAS style and couldn’t resist doing

When you do the featured stampers challenge you need to change at least 2 things and I kept the over look but did change things up.  The base of the card is Whisper White and I ran it through the Polka Dotted Embossing Folder.  I took another piece of Whisper White and stamped the greeting using Daffodil Delight and added to the card front using dimensionals.  Next I took a piece of Basic Black and added a Scallop Trim Daffodil Delight piece along the top and added to the card front.  I did the daisy from the Blossom Party die from Polka Dotted, Striped and Plain Daffodil Delight.  I added these to the Basic Black strip and added a Basic Black flower from the Itty Bitty Punches and then added a rhinestone in the middle of each to finish it off.
