Over the weekend I've been working on some projects for classes in May. Since May is National Scrapbooking month, all of my classes are going to feature the Simply Scrappin' kits. It is AMAZING how much 'stuff' is in one of those kits. The beginning of May (1st Saturday) is cards made out of a kit while the 3rd Friday class will be picture projects. SHHHH....it's a secret though! For those of you on my email list, stay tuned for more details!

So after finishing up 12 cards for a card class and a picture project out of the Summer Days Simply Scrappin' kit, I found I had paper left. I saw this sketch on Prairie Paper & Ink's website and decided to use that for my card. The colors in this kit are Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue and Wild Wasabi so I used that along with Whisper White. The kit is based on the Stitched Exotics set so it was a natural to use that for my stamped images. I also used the Stitched background (difficult to see on the the Bashful Blue piece but it is there. Also the Real Red strip is a leftover piece of textured Real Red from the kit.

The other thing is that I just LOVE the new silver Hodgepodge hardware set. I like the fun brads (which are PERFECT for the center of this flower) and the frames. The 'happy' is from the "It's All Good" set. You punch it out with the 1" circle punch and it works just right in the circle frame. A little Pumpkin grosgrain finishes off the card. I think happy is the perfect word for this card!

Happy Stampin'! -----
