FTG 1

This is another card from the 'play date' Lisa and I had on Saturday. I have to say I was REALLY happy with the cards I made. This is the last one that I did. We picked a REALLY easy sketch because I was cooking dinner (some corn chowder) and having dinner while I was doing this challenge. The stamp is the Level 1 Hostess Set/Stamp From the Garden which is a background size stamp. So often when I see a 'bigger' stamp I think I have to use paper the same size as the stamp but I LOVE the look when you just use a portion of the image. Lisa decided that we HAD to use some purple...a challenge for her but I LOVE purple so not a problem. I stamped the flower onto a piece of watercolor paper and colored with watercolored crayons and an AquaPainter. It is layered onto a piece of Lavender Lace cardstock. The card base is So Saffron with a piece of Certainly Celery Designer paper. The ribbon is Certainly Celery grosgrain. After I finished the basic card I felt that it just need some more so I used clear microbeads in the center of the flower. I then decided to use some of the NEW bright silver hodgepodge hardware to add a sentiment (Celebrate is from the Labelicious set) and then some silver brad on the side. Once I finished adding these couple extras I was pleased with the way it turned out. It feels very 'springy' to me and I sure could use some springy right about now!

Happy Stampin'!
