Crab & Co.

What's this???? Not YET ANOTHER One of a Kind? Did she run out??? NOPE...just wanted a change of pace! This is one of the cards with are doing in my FINAL technique class today. Yep...it's my FINAL one! Those who have never missed a class now have a ring filled with techniques (some were fun...some were those once was enough - LOL!) and with every color of our regular cardstock that we have. (Have some of the old in-colors but not the new ones). Let me tell you...that ring is HEAVY!
So this is one of the last ones we are doing and it is the mirror/reflection technique. You often see this technique done with the trees from Lovely as a Tree with a 'reflection' in a pool of water. Yep...I started with that idea too! Then I decided there are tons of samples out there like that so I'm going to do more a mirror card (same technique - no...I'm not giving the secret away here!). After my porcupine Valentine card...I was still in the mood for another 'just a little bit off' Valentine card (my dilemma - which one to give my DH...maybe both!). I haven't used Crab and Co for awhile so I thought that would be great...especially with the 'shore do love you' sentiment in there.
The base is Night of Navy. The top is cut off 1/4" at the bottom and a strip of Kraft paper is added to the bottom piece. The crabs were stamped with black and colored with a mix of Creamy Caramel and Ruby Red. I also used Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue to color the sand and water. The Cutter Kit was used to fray the edges on the top and bottom of the Whisper White cardstock, Ruby Red cardstock and the bottom flap of the card. The little starfish was stamped on the card front using Night of Navy ink. Navy grosgrain ribbon and Caramel gingham ribbon finishes of the card.
So there you have it...a fun little card for someone special on Valentine's Day. Happy Stampin'!

I’ve seen this done before Mary, this mirror affect. I think I saw it on splitcoaststamper’s website. I LOVE that website. I don’t remember how to do it, but did think it was a neat techinque. And of course, you know me, I absolutely love C & C. But those are clams Mary, not crabs, silly. Just giving you a hard time.
