Okay...so it is still TOTALLY MISERABLE here in my little part of Ohio. Overnight we were supposed to have a blizzard - I don't think we actually made it to that, at least not in Xenia, but I can tell you that it was tough to get the back door open to let Gypsy out this morning. Within a couple minutes, she came back in a little snow ball! She was NOT a happy little spaniel at that point.

Got a little off subject there...have I ever mentioned that I HATE winter? I do...REALLY!

Back to the story...so yesterday was a good day to stamp because the snow started hitting then and there really wasn't anything else to do (okay maybe cleaning and stuff like that but that's not FUN!). Beate had posted her Friday Sketch Challenge and when I saw Lori Craig's take on it I just had to sit down and participate.

ALB 1

Now I really had no idea where I was going to start on this except I just got in a pack of Spring Break Designer Series paper (my friend Lisa MADE me buy it!) and thought I'd pay with that. I bought the "A Little Birdie Told Me" set a while back but it had been sitting on my shelf neglected. Since I want spring to be here soooo much what would be better then Spring Break paper (mine starts in two weeks!) and a little birdie chirping away?

So the paper is Spring Break, Whisper White, Not Quite Navy, Pumpkin Pie and Soft Sky. I also used a little piece of textured Soft Sky for the birdie. I stamped her once on the Whisper White then a second time on the textured Soft Sky and cut it out and layered it. I used markers for the beak and the grass. I also wanted to play some with my ribbon sliders and had this idea to loop the ribbon through it and used some blue bayou double-stitched ribbon in there. (The color of the ribbon looks a little off in the scan but that is what I used). The saying "it's time to celebrate" was stamped on a scrap of soft sky and punched out with the key tab punch and layered under the birdie layer.

So...why is this a tale of two sketch cards? Stay tuned tomorrow for part 2!

Happy Stampin'!
