Autumn Fest - make and take 2

Many of you who have been coming to my workshops this month have seen and even made this card. This was one of my cards in my recent 'series' using these colors. I did actually figure out why I liked this color combo so much...it reminds me of an Amish quilt. Anyway, this was also the card I made to swap at the recent Louisville regional. Well between cutting paper for swap cards and for make and take cards I had some 'supplies' left over. I decided to challenge myself to use the same supplies but create a completely different card.

When I started working on my 'other' card, I did make myself using all the cut paper and ribbon that was in the original card. I decided I could use different sets and add a little more to it. It was an interesting challenge for me. So...do you want to see the finished 'other' card?

Carved & Candlelit cacti

Well, here you go! I used the 'Halloween' set Carved and Candlelit. When this set first came out a couple years ago someone had the very creative idea (not me) of taking the pumpkins and making them into cacti. What a wonderful idea! That idea stuck with me over the years. The pumpkins are stamped with Old Olive...the larger one was stamped off once before stamping on the final paper. If you look at these two card the only thing that was added was the little pomegranate flowers (used the Three for You punch) and the Be Happy tag - words from the So Many Words Level 1 hostess set and punched out with the small oval tag. I used a marker to draw the needles on the cacti. Oh...what's those dots along the side of the Blue Bayou paper you ask? Those were made with the crop-a-dile (those coming to future workshops stay tuned!). I cut my scallop punch circle in half and rubbed some Bordering Blue ink on those.

So there you have it...A Tale of Two Cards! Happy Stampin'!
