Wild Rose - 2
Sometimes old sets get shoved to back as new ones get released. Then Stampin’ Up! decides to retire the set and I really haven’t used it that much. This is one of the those sets. It’s such a pretty set. Click on the link below to see some detail on the roses.
I really liked the colors of my All Through the Year card that I made a little bit ago. When I decided to work on a card today, I thought I’d start with those colors. Next I had seen this card and wanted to use that as my layout inspirations.
To get the two tones for the rose, I used Taken with Teal and just stamped off once for the lighter shade. The leaves were done with Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi. The pattern paper is Wild Wasabi from the Level 1 Print Pack. I pulled out my Stylized Silver Hardware kit for this. I hope, hope, hope, hope, hope that it is in the next catalog. I just LOVE this. The celebrate comes from Labelicious which is also retiring. I stamped that in black on Certainly Celery and punched it out with the designer label punch. I added a piece of white taffeta ribbon on the side and some silver brads to finish it off.
When I finished making the card, I decided that the flowers were a little ‘flat’ looking so I took my black pen and used it to add some lines as accents. Once I finished these, I felt it really helped to make the flowers pop more on the card.
Sorry I haven’t been posting much. This coming week is my last week of the summer quarter! YIPPEE!!!! I am so excited to be getting that finished up. Once that is done, I’ll have a week here at home and then be heading to Salt Lake City for the Stampin’ Up! convention—WOOOO HOOO!!!! Hopefully I’ll have more time to stamp and plan on showing some of the retiring sets.
Happy Stampin’!
