Welcome to the Freak Tour!
Hello everyone and welcome to the Tour de Freaks! The tour doesn’t officially start until tomorrow (Saturday) but I’m posting early because I am going out of town for the weekend. What are the FREAKS??? We are a group of swappers from around the USA and Canada! And what a talented group of ladies….I am truly happy to be one of them. So…I am stop #2. My blog works a little differently from others…click below to see more pictures and get the link to move on…
You have just arrived from Connie’s Inkspired Treasures. Weren’t her projects WONDERFUL??? Connie is one of my challenge friends…we do challenges online together. What fun! Those of you who know me well know how much I LOVE Stitched Exotics and how much I am going to miss this set when it is gone. It is such a perfect set for cutting out! Now…along with this retiring set, I’m also using the Raspberry Tart paper…a paper I must admit I do not really like but I LOVE the cards I’ve been able to make with it. This card falls into that category. The base of the card is pink pirouette and is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I then added two piece of the dsp. Wrapped around the card is a piece of the pink pirouette 1 1/4” grosgrain ribbon and then a piece of the kiwi kiss/very vanilla satin ribbon. The flowers are stamped with Rose Red and Regal Rose. The lightest rose is the second stamping of the Regal Rose. The leaves are stamped in kiwi kiss and of course everything is cut out…‘cause that’s what I do best! LOL!!! A half pearl from the pretties kit is in the center of each flower. Thank You from Lovely Labels is stamped in Old Olive then punched with the 1 1/4” punch. It is layered onto a pink pirouette 1 3/8” circle and then a rose red scallop circle. Oh…how I am going to miss this set!

Now…you remember Connie? You know…you just came from her blog? Well…we were playing around doing some challenges one day and this is one of the cards I made. I LOVE easy cards…but they also have to look good and I think this card falls into that category! The base of the card is Kiwi Kiss and is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I took a piece of the Good Morning Sunshine dsp and added it to the lower right corner. Next I took another piece of the dsp from this pack and stamped “is for birthday” in chocolate chip. A piece of pacific point is layered on top of it and the pacific point striped grosgrain is tied around it. The B is stamped in Summer Sun on the whisper white base and then on another piece using pacific point and cut out (oh…there’s a shocker!) and layered. This is on a piece of chocolate chip and then layered onto the card front using dimensionals. This is such a nice set B-cause…it is so versatile. I really like versatile sets!
Oh and speaking of versatile, here is one of my FAVORITE versatile sets that is retiring…Independence Day! Those of you who are regular visitors to my blog know that I featured this set in a recent blog hop. (You can see that posting here.) Here’s another project I did using this set…

I love my big shot and thought a fun banner for July. I randomly stamped images on whisper white using riding hood red, pacific point and basic black. I then folded the paper and ran it through the big shot using the small pennant on the pennant die. I also made the scallop pennants using the same die and riding hood red paper. The letters are die cut from basic black. These are all layered together and then the pennants are attached together using crystal brads. I punched out large pacific point stars and small riding hood red stars. I layered them and put some translucent thread between them and dangled the stars from the crystal brads. To hang the pennant I added riding hood red striped grosgrain ribbon on each end.
So…what do you think? Don’t you just NEED this Independence Day set?
That’s all I have for you. Now you are going to go to Julie Dinn’s site. She is a FABULOUS artist! Click on the picture below to go to her blog. See you July 20th for another Tour de Freaks!

Hi Mary,
Thanks for sharing the fun and inspiration. The banner is phenomenal and perfect for July parites (especially on the 4th :D). Gotta agree with you about the stitched exotics. I started out not caring for it much and now it’s a fav I’m really going to miss. One of these days I’ll learn that there are no bad stamp sets just uncreative stampers who haven’t yet figured out how to use it - LoL! Thanks for showing the way.
Blessings - Jean

Love Your Banner. What a great idea, especially for Great Nieces & Nephews. A perfect way to help the children learn to celebrate the 4th and learn why we celebrate this holiday in such a special way. Thanks for sharing.
