Something a little different
I made this awhile back when Lisa, Connie and I were doing a challenge. We found the layout on mytime’s site and thought it would be a good one to do. We added a color challenge where it had to be black, white, and one other color.
Often my way of picking a set is whatever is laying on top of my desk when I sit down to stamp. Now if you ever saw my desk you’d know that often the possibilities are quite limitless as I have a VERY messy desk with lots on top. I had just received this set “Starring You” which coordinates with the “Rock Star” card elements kit. It is really a GREAT little set! Well for my ‘other’ color I chose sahara sand another neutral. I like the clean look of this color combo. I used my markers to do the star/word image and then punched out and added to a metal edge tag…dang…I haven’t used those in like FOREVER!!! The big circle was done with my coluzzle. I used that for the black and the sahara sand and then cut a white strip, laid it over the circle and trimmed the edges. On the white background layer I stamped the stars using stazon jetblack and then colored in using my sahara sand marker. To make the tag on top, I stamped the star image using sahara sand, then did the words in black on top. I punched out using the key tag punch and then sponged the edges using sahara sand. It is all finished off with a piece of white taffeta ribbon around the top and the tag added with a piece of linen thread.
I would have to say I liked the way it turned out. This was one of these cards where I did it and sent to my friends then decided I needed to change something on it. I had originally had a skinny tag where the way to go tag is and didn’t like it. This worked much better. You can see Connie’s version of this card here.
Hope you all have a GREAT day and GO OUT AND VOTE!!!!! Happy stampin’!
