So Long…Farewell…
Wow...it is hard to believe this catalog will soon be coming to an end. I was stamping some with my friend Connie and for our first challenge we use a sketch, a color combo and we added that we had to include a retiring set.
So the sketch was pretty basic with the little squares as the base of the card. I used my 1 1/4” punch for the stamped pieces and the 1 3/8” for the black square layer. I did the stamped part by stamping up a sheet and then just punching it out. That was easier then punching first and stamping second.
The color combo was Taken with Teal, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White. We also added in Basic Black....I think that really helps the other colors ‘pop’! The main set is All Through the Year that is retiring and so is the saying which is from the It’s Your Birthday set (DANG...I’m going to miss that one!) Yes...I did stamp and cut out the flowers and leaves for the on the word layer. I thought it just looked better that way. The final thing was adding silver brads (the one looks like a rhinestone in the pic but really it is a regular silver brad) to the centers of all the flowers.
Honestly this was a VERY quick card...once I decided on my set. I just love this color combo...what fun! Happy Stampin’!

Love the card. What a great use of squares, seems so easy. The color combo is great too. Great Job.

Love this card, Mary! I just pulled this set out for some “retirement” cards...it is one of my favorites.

Mary!! This card is lovely! I saw it in the SCS forums. Someone chose it as one of their favorites for this week. I made a card with this design challenge, but used Green Galore and Tempting Turquoise (although I used Taken with Teal CS). Pretty close to yours! Have a blessed Sunday!

Oops! I just realized I had changed my mind about using Taken with Teal cs. I just used Green Galore, black and white. Just wanted to correct myself here.
Have a nice Monday, Mary!
