Simple Birthday Thanks 1
Here’s another card from my ‘Cupcakes with a surprise inside’ class. I really like this BIG cupcake - what FUN!!!
I used the Rainbow Sherbet as the basis for my colors for this card. This is one of those papers that is easy overlook in the catalog but it is so much fun. The base of the card is a quarter sheet of Tangerine Tango. I then took a piece of Apricot Appeal 4 x 11 scored at 2 3/4 on one end and 3 on the other. The 3” piece is folded up to create a pocket for a gift card. The base of the cupcake is a piece of the dsp from the paper pack. It is a little difficult to see but I also used a piece of the apricot dsp from the same pack for on the top under the ‘icing’. The icing portion is stamped on Tempting Turquoise then we punched out 1/4” circles from Tangerine Tango, Apricot Appeal and Green Galore and attached with multipurpose glue. The ‘cherry’ was stamped on Tangerine Tango and then added to the top of the cupcake. When putting the cupcake on the top flap, just put adhesive under the ‘icing’ part.
The ‘medallion’ is made by stamping the ‘happy birthday’ circle on a piece of apricot appeal and punching out with the 1 1/4” punch. Attach that to a 1 3/8” circle of Tempting Turquoise and then to a Green Galore scallop. We then added a large designer brad in the middle. Some used a flower and others a star. Before putting the medallion on the cupcake we folded a piece of Tangerine Tango striped grosgrain and taped it underneath.
What a great way to give someone a gift card! Happy Stampin’!
