My friend Lisa (and Connie too) participates in a “Bloggers Challenge” group.  On Fridays they have to post their creation based on that week’s criteria.  Lisa and I had a chance to play and she wanted to work on her challenge.  The idea of ‘same but different’ was that they were either to take one stamp set and make two totally different cards or take one layout and do two totally different cards.  We decided to do the layout challenge together.  This was my favorite out of the two…look inside for my other one!

Besides doing the layout challenge we picked two color combo challenges to use…one for each layout.  You all know how I LOVE my Season of Friendship set so that was my inspiration for this first card.  The base is pink pirouette.  I layered a piece of pretty in pink over that.  On this piece I randomly stamped the leaf image in pretty in pink.  On the certainly celery piece, I did direct to paper (turned my ink pad over and just rubbed all over).  The tree was stamped using StazOn JetBlack, the leaves in certainly celery and the flowers in regal rose.  The bird was stamped using certainly celery and punched out using the 3/4” circle, then black 1” and regal rose 1 14/“.  This is layered on to front using a dimensional.  I stamped the greeting onto a piece of pink pirouette.  To make the ribbon I folded a piece of rose 5/8” ribbon in half and put a green rhinestone brad over it and then put into greeting.

Okay…now for my same but different.  I can’t say I like this card at least not as much as I like the pink one.  I did really struggle with this color combo - Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point.  The stamp set is Punch Pals.  I stamped the snowman in black and colored with my aquapainter.  I stamped the circle on Kiwi and Rose using the black and punched out.  I then stamped the separate snowflake on paciific point and punched that out.  These are all layered together.  I added a clip (from the clip assortment) with a piece of white taffeta ribbon on it as an accent.  The row of flowers were stamped on a piece of rose red.  The base of the card is Kiwi Kiss with a piece of dsp from the Ski Slope back.

So there you have it…one layout…two VERY different cards!  What do YOU think?  Need to go get ready for a stamping class that will be starting in a couple hours.  Until next time…happy stampin’!
