Inspired by Nature 2
So I wanted to try a silhouette card using black for the image. Jackie really likes the 3 color band concept so I worked with that. The colors are inspired by the Urban Garden designer series paper.
The color stripes are Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Not Quite Navy. I layered them right next to each other and then mounted on a piece of Basic Black. At first I was going to stamp the image right over this layered cardstock and then decided I wanted to stamp separately on white and cut out and pop it up.
I think this images really shows that detail. Another detail that is added was that I stamped on the three layered pieces using my Versamark ink and the Sanded background. It added just a little bit of texture to the background. The flower image was stamped on whisper white using black CRAFT ink. I covered it with clear embossing powder and heat embossed. I then cut out the image using my paper snips (boy, these sure are handy little scissors!) and then added pop dots to the back.
Now if you really look at the ribbon on this you will see it is the olive poly twill that was available in the last mini. I was SOOO hoping that it would make the catalog (it didnt’) BUT we are now carrying 1/4” olive grosgrain ribbon. Since I don’t have any of that yet, I decided the poly twill would work that same. Fundamental Phrases is one of my most very favorite saying sets in the whole wide world! So I stamped Hello on a piece of Baja Breeze, punched out with the small oval punch (wait until you see the new BIG oval punch - VERY COOL!!!!) and then attached it with a small piece of linen thread. The card base is Natural White...haven’t used that for awhile but like the look with the rest of this card.
Well I’m patiently (yeah...right) awaiting my first NEW CATALOG ORDER!!! Oh I can hardly wait...new punches...new paper...new ribbon...new stamps...OH MY!!! Can’t wait to share with you all during new catalog open house! So until later...Happy Stampin’!
