Independence Day
Blogger’s Challenge
One of the challenges my friends Lisa, Connie and I did the other day when we were playing together was the Blogger’s Challenge. This is a group of online (bloggers) who post a challenge every Friday. Both of my friends are members of that group. I sometimes play along even though I’m not part of the group.
For this week’s challenge they had to use red, white and blue. Guess we are getting ready to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend! Since I have the really cool Independence Day set, I decided it would be perfect for this challenge! I used a 4 1/4 x 11 folded Real Red card base. Then I added a 4 x 5 1/4 whisper white layer. Next was piece of Brilliant Blue designer Series Paper. I thought the stripes would work good for this card. Then there is a little piece of Real Red layered on that. I stamped my white panel with some Real Red stars. It’s a little hard to see but I did stamp the swirl on the small Real Red panel. I used Brilliant Blue ink. For the focal image, I started by using the large star from that set stamped in Brilliant Blue but decided I didn’t like that. Next I decided to go with the firecrackers. I stamped those on a piece of Ballet Blue paper and cut out. I layered them over the ribbon using dimensionals. The celebrate I inked with a Brilliant Blue marker and stamped on the white panel. Don’t you just love the Striped Ribbon? Used this to finish things off!
