Now of course when you think a 4th of July set you are sure to think of things to do with this set for a centerpiece for your holiday gathering. As we sit around the grill, cooking up our tofu (yep…you read that one right), this would be the perfect centerpiece for our picnic table. (Here’s the link for the directions for making these ADORABLE boxes!). Here’s a close up of the top part of the boxes that I stamped various images using Riding Hood Red, Pacific Point and Basic Black. As you can see from this image I randomly stamped before doing all my scoring and folding. I felt that it just needed a little extra so I made the tag to go along with it! For this project I also used the Washington Apple dsp (that’s the red striped on the bottom) and Good Morning Sunshine (that’s the blue dotted thin piece separating the red from the stamped section). Okay…so I’m not known for my table decorations but I found this shredded stuff that I thought would look good stuffed inside the boxes and I thought it turned out pretty good! Bring on the tofu…we’re ready to EAT! LOL!!!

Now one of the things I LOVE the most about this set is just how versatile it is! No…REALLY it is! The first time I saw this set I thought what cute birthday cards I could make from this set. Here’s one I did. The card base is Kiwi Kiss texture (5 1/4 x 5 1/4). I stamped the swirly image on it with Kiwi Kiss and then used my mat and piercing tool to add a little extra. Yes…I did stamp the ITTY BITTY stars on Pumpkin Pie and Pacific Point and CUT THEM OUT. Yes…I do know that is insane. Yes…I’m quite certain I do need therapy. Just remember…the first step is admitting you have a problem. But quite frankly…I don’t see it as a problem - LOL!!! I stamped the greeting from the “A Little Birthday Cheer” set on a piece of Old Olive and pierced along the bottom. The side panel is some of the blue dotted paper from Good Morning Sunshine dsp layered under a piece of Pumpkin Pie textured paper and then added some of the Tangerine Tango Ric Rac from the Ribbon Originals Pie Tails collection. CUTE…so CUTE! The big star is stamped in Pacific Point, and little stars in Kiwi Kiss (oh…I am SOOOO going to miss this color) and Pumpkin Pie. These are cut out and layered onto the card front. So…what do you think? Good birthday card?

So here’s my last one. I thought this would make a good ‘love’ kind of card. This could be a birthday card, an anniversary card or maybe even a wedding card for a fun couple! The base of the card is Pink Pirouette. I randomly stamped the XOXOXO from Fundamental Phrases in Regal Rose (I stamped off to get it lighter). I used a piece of striped dsp from the Candy Lane collection and layered it onto some Close to Cocoa. I scalloped the bottom edge using the scallop edge punch. I stamped the heart image three times on Very Vanilla - once each in Riding Hood Red, Regal Rose and Close to Cocoa. I cut these out (because that is what I do…I cut things out!). I took a piece of Very Vanilla and paper pierced around the edge. I stamped the LOVE from Fundamental Phrases in Close to Cocoa. I took three pieces of linen thread, tied them together and attached to the card. I then added a balloon on top of each piece of thread. The Riding Hood Red balloon is attached using a dimensional. To finish off the card, I took a small piece of Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon, tied a knot in it and added it over the linen thread using a glue dot.

Hi Mary,
Fun projects and even funnier commentary. Thanks for making me smile and for sharing all the details. It’s refreshing to see someone unapologetically enjoy the more anal aspects of our craft (such as cutting eensy, teensy bits of paper). Enjoy the tofu and I’ll be back for more.
Hugs and blessings from Southern Oregon - Jean
Gotta hop…
