Well yesterday I had my annual Holiday Card Class.  I’ve been doing this the first Saturday in October for several years now…isn’t it nice that they have recognized this event by making it World Card Making Day?  LOL!!!  Over the next several days I’m going to share my cards from this class.  Now you have seen this one before on my blog but here are the details.

I think I’m probably best known for having a difficult time doing ‘traditional’ colors for things but I did manage to slip a couple red/green cards in there this year.  First…I do have to say that this was NOT an original idea of mine.  I’ve seen several versions of this over the years floating out there on ‘the Net’ so I can’t give specific credit.  But to all of you who shared this idea…THANKS!!!  It was a hit yesterday!  The colors are mellow moss, always artichoke, riding hood red, very vanilla and brushed gold.  We embossed the circle image from Punch Pals using gold ep on mellow moss.  First we punch out the center of the ‘wreath’ using the 3/4” circle punch and then punched out the rest of the image using the scallop punch.  This was placed in the middle of a piece of very vanilla and then the ‘j’ and ‘y’ from the Taffy alphabet (any larger alphabet set would work) in always artichoke.  We tied a knot in a piece of riding hood red taffeta ribbon and attached to the ‘wreath’ using a glue dot.  The snowflakes (from Punch Pals) were stamped on the always artichoke paper using always artichoke ink.  Other than that it is just a bunch of layering!

So…stay tuned for more of the Holiday Card Class cards!  Until then…Happy Stampin’!
