Happiness is a Journey
I can’t say that I have ever been a train person but I will say when I saw this set in the catalog I absolutely HAD to have it. I LOVE the image and I also love the greeting…“Happiness is a Journey not a DESTINATION.“
Lisa and I decided to use a sketch challenge over on splitcoast. When I first saw the sketch, I really didn’t like it that much but then I started to see all these gorgeous cards made with it. When we decided to do this, my first thought was the train and my Manchester designer paper. I really like the patterns in this series and I like the ‘softer’ colors.
It really is a very easy card. I stamped the image on a piece of very vanilla using Baja Breeze (oh…I do LOVE this color!). The saying is stamped using always artichoke. I sponged around the edges using creamy caramel and then roughed them up using my cutter kit tool. I picked four of the patterns I liked from the paper and cut them until the fit. The pieced paper is layered onto a piece of always artichoke and then onto a folded kraft cardbase. I’ve seen on alot of card lately where the brads are layered onto 1/4” circles so that is what I did here. I punch out 1/4” baja breeze cardstock and put my vintage brads into those before putting onto the card.
I will have to say, I was very pleased with the way this turned out. I thing it would make a good masculine card even with the ‘softer’ look.
Happy stampin’ everyone!

This is just the nicest card I have seen with this set, and you know from my other email, that this is just wanted I needed to make a WOW card for my Son-in-law for his birthday.
Thanks so much for sharing.

Wow! I love what you have done on this card. I, too, had to have that stamp set as soon as I saw it, but have been unsure about what I wanted to do with it yet. Your color combination is perfect, and now I have to buy that paper, too! Thanks for some great samples on your site.
