I’m SOOO excited!!!  Tomorrow I leave for Salt Lake City to go to the annual convention!  Oh the fun!  This year is a 20 year celebration of the company!  Read more about the t-shirt and see more close up pictures.

So I decided that my roommates and I needed matching t-shirts for the convention.  At one point our group (the Control Freak swappers) had talked about us making our own shirts and then we had a company design them and we just bought them from there.  Well, I had already bought my shirt and had an idea so once I had some free time, I went to work on this.  Well, I so liked how it turned out that I headed over to Walmart to see if I could find some shirts for Lisa and Shona.  WOO HOO...not only did they have them...they were on sale!  It was a sign that I just HAD to do this.

image Well, these two like bling, so I had to head to Michael’s to get ‘precious gems’ for the centers of the flowers.  First I was just going to do the gems in the centers of the big flowers but I KNEW it just wouldn’t be enough bling for the ‘bling sisters’.  You can kind of see it on the picture (it definitely shows up MUCH better in real life) but I also painted some glitter onto the petals of the daisies and the leaves to give them more sparkle too!  You can also see that not only did I do the row of flower down the right side of the shirt but I also added a daisy (complete with precious gen) on the left sleeve.

image Now doesn’t this just look like a field of daisies?  So...how do I stamp on fabric.  Personally I use acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium.  I seem to get a better result from this especially when I am doing light colors on darker fabric.  You CAN use our craft ink for this...just make sure your pad is nice and juicy...I think that makes a difference.  I mixed the paint with the medium (2 parts paint to 1 part medium), and dabbed the paint onto the stamp using a sponge brush.  When I stamp onto the fabric, I tend to hold the stamp in place for a couple seconds to let the paint soak into the fabric some.  Once all the stamping was done, I set the paint as per directions on the fabric medium bottle.  Next I added the gems using Aleena’s wash it glue.

So if you see these shirts at convention, you’ll know one of them is me...stampercamper!  (Not sure what day we will be wearing our shirts yet.) I’ll be the one with the short dark hair.  Stop by and say ‘hi’!

Well...tomorrow I head on out!  My plane leaves at 3:30 pm and I’ll arrive at SLC around 7:30.  I can hardly wait to see my friends again...it’s been a whole year!  Last year (the first time we all met in real life), poor Shona was sick with what ended up being strep throat!  Oh, the poor girl!  I doubt that she actually remembers much about convention!  But this year, hopefully we all will be fine.  They are not having a cyber cafe for us this year, so I won’t be able to post until I get home with updates about the convention, but I will be posting the swaps I made so check in everyday starting Wednesday!

Happy Stampin’ and see you in Salt Lake City!
