FINALLY...a birthday page!

Look...what is this?  She actually used this as a birthday set...AMAZING!!!  But miracles CAN happen if you only believe!

When we do displays for Stampin’ Up! we have to make a variety of cards, scrapbook pages and 3-D items.  I usually work on my scrapbook pages first as they tend to be the most difficult for me.  When I saw this set my first idea for a scrapbook page was to do the ‘messy cake’ picture that EVERY parent takes of their child on their 1st birthday.  So I called my ‘sister’ Nicole to see if she had some of her Hallie bug and she sent me these.

I used the same colors on this one as I did on the one happy birthday (with balloons) card I posted awhile ago (pumpkin pie, summer sun, ballet blue).  Can you tell I was really into color blocking at the time I was making these?  This is a 12x12 page and I wanted to show the pictures from ‘start’ to ‘finish’ on the cake eating.  Besides the ‘ready’, ‘set’, ‘eat cake’, I really didn’t think it needed any more journaling...the pictures tell it all!  I used the cake stamp on the pumpkin and then the mini background stamp on the ballet blue.  Other then that I just stamped the cake (with candles) in black and make a tag (I was into tags too!  I think we had just gotten the tag punch if I remember right.)

So there you have it...a real live birthday page made with the birthday set!  Stay tuned for some new stuff.  I’m going to show you the t-shirts I made for myself and my roomies to wear one of the days at convention.  I had SOOOO much fun making them and then I’ll show some of my swaps and stuff that I did.  They will be popping up on the site while I’m in Salt Lake City so you will have something to look forward too!

As always...happy stampin’!
