Another Scrapbook page.  Isn’t this an absolutely GORGEOUS quilt?  No I didn’t make but it has a cool story to it.

So I’m trying to find pictures that work with the ‘flower’ image, since that’s what I thought this was, and remember this beautiful quilt.  My dad and I had decided to throw a surprise birthday party for my sister.  At the time my sister was working ALL the time so she really had no clue we were doing this.  Her quilting friends decided to make this quilt for her.  The one designed it, then they took turns working on it.  the colors were absolutely stunning.  The back of the quilt is a sunflower batik (one of my sister’s favorite types of fabric...that and 30s prints - go figure!) and they called the quilt “Sunflowers for LuAnn” (obviously that would be my sister’s name).  I used markers to ink the ‘flowers’ and stamped them on the Apricot Appeal cardstock.  You can’t really see it in the picture but there is a piece of hardware to the right side of the picture.  It is designed so that you pull on that and the journaling will slide out from under the picture.

I liked the color blocking on the back piece to give it the quilt look there too.  It is a little difficult to see in the photo but I stamped the striped background (retired background) on the Ruby Red pieces to give it some texture.  I’m really not that big into scrapbooking....I like to do it, I just don’t take very many photos.  When I saw this set, I had remembered this quilt and had to go digging to find it.  You should see this quilt in real life...it is just soooooo beautiful!

Wow...another blast from the past!  Happy Stampin’!
