Blast from the Past!

Over the next couple of days I’m going to share some cards that I did for convention display back in 2006!  Why am I sharing these?  They have retiring sets on them.  So let’s beginning by eating some cake!

This was actually a pretty easy set to work with!  I remember though I when I saw the set I thought “cool...this should be easy” and then I read that I had to use the Earth Elements color family with it and thought “they have GOT to be kidding!!!!”.  But it worked!  I had seen this color combo in a mini or something like that and really liked it and decided to use it for this card.  The colors are Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, Old Olive and Ballet Blue...not a combo I’d normally put together but I liked it.  The basic black just helps to make the colors ‘pop’!

Yes...I AM crazy...I just LOVE to cut things out (but then maybe you already noticed that about me!).  The letters in happy and the balloons are all cut out.  I stamped the balloons with CRAFT ink, covered with Iridescent Ice embossing powder and heat embossed.  The ‘string’ on the balloons is linen thread.

So stay tuned for some more Eat Cake samples the next couple of days.  Remember...time is running out...order now!

Happy Stampin’!
