Today our challenge over on Create with Connie and Julie was to make a Mom’s Day card.  Now the sets we had to use were the Garden from the Heart and Messages for Mom.  Oh my…I had the Garden from the Heart set but not the Messages for Mom one so I had to be a little creative.  Click inside for a close-up view and to find out the winners of last week’s challenge.

First things first…and the winners are…1st place was Sandra, 2nd place was Lori and Honorable mention to Jessica.  Congratulations ladies!

I am absolutely ADDICTED to making these fun quilted flowers using the Flower Fold die.  Right before Christmas, I had picked up a couple different prints so my friends could make some flowers as part of our annual Christmas get-together.  (They loved it as much as I did!)  This was one of the three fabrics I had bought for us to use.  The center of the flower is a Real Red Corduroy button (from the Occasions mini).  The card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 and because of the size of the flowers I only used the 3 smallest sizes (that big one is HUGE!!!).  The base of the card is So Saffron.  The printed paper is from my very FAVORITE Sweet Pea dsp pack!  The pink print is layered onto Real Red and the bluish paper is layered onto Chocolate Chip.  I added some Old Olive Brads to the bluish layer.  I then tied a piece of the Old Olive 5/8” satin ribbon around the card.  Now remember we had these two different sets to use?  And where’s mine you ask?  Well you see that frame that is around the “Wonderful Mother” greeting?  Yep…there you go…Garden from the Heart!  WHEW…got that in!  LOL!!!  The “Wonderful Mother” greeting is from Well Scripted.

Well today marks the very end of this round of Create with Connie and Julie.  I want to thank them for allowing me to be the Senior Design Team member.  I REALLY had a blast creating projects and doing the challenges!

Now don’t forget to go and visit the design team’s creations and see what they have in store for you!
