CCJC3 - Sketch Challenge
This week Connie gave us a FABULOUS sketch to work with for our challenge! We also were working with the Vintage Vogue set. I just LOVED this sketch and quickly turned to my very favorite paper (Sweet Pea dsp) to use in this challenge. Find out who the winners of last week’s challenge and read more about this project and see a close-up inside…

First…and the winners from last week’s challenge were…Sue Begger and Lori Watson! Congratulations ladies! And now on to my card.
I pulled out this fabulous print from the Sweet Pea pack and used it as the inspiration for my challenge card. All of the printed papers come from just the one piece of dsp. COOL!!!! The colors I took from this paper were Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and So Saffron. The base of the card is Pumpkin Pie. I took the striped side of the paper and layered it onto a piece of Rose Red and then the card base. Next I took the butterfly part of the paper, layered it onto a piece of Rose Red and then So Saffron and then onto the card front. Finally I took a piece of the Pretty in Pink print from the same paper and layered that onto Rose Red. I tied Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive 1/4” grosgrain ribbon around the piece before layering it to the card front.
Now for the medallion. I once again turned to my pennant die to make the Old Olive scallop circle. I stamped the Friends/F on Whisper White using Old Olive and punched out using the 1 3/4” circle punch and layered onto the scallop circle. I think inked the F using Rose Red, cut out and layered using a dimensional. I added this to the card front using dimensionals. Next I stamped the small flower twice using Pumpkin Pie and some leaves in Old Olive, cut out and layered. I added clear rhinestone brads in the center of each and then added to card front.
This is really a different look for a card for me. Using all these different prints was a bit challenging but I did enjoy how it turned out. Thanks Connie for a GREAT sketch to work with!
Now don’t forget to check out the other Create team members to see what they did with the sketch. Also…there is still time to join Create! Once you are a member you can access all the previous posts and let me tell…there have been TONS of GREAT ideas already!
