A card for Mom

Not only was this a card that I did for a challenge, but when I was working on it, I was making it for my mom-in-law for her birthday!

It started out with this sketch and we added in there we had to use a scoring technique.  I don’t think the colors showed up really well...the Groovy Guava just seems to photograph darker...but the colors are Blush Blossom, Groovy Guava, Basic Grey.  I stamped the flower from Bloomin’ Beautiful on watercolor paper then colored with the Groovy Guava and Mellow Moss ink.  I scored the piece of Groovy Guava and then stamped it with the Twill background stamp and Groovy Guava ink.  I stamped the Pretty Posies background stamp on the Blush Blossom card base using Blush Blossom ink.  On the Basic Grey piece I stamped the bee from the set using Basic Grey ink.  The “Celebrate YOU” stamp is from A Little Birthday Cheer”.  I stamp it in Basic Grey ink on Very Vanilla and made that into a tag.  The ribbon is some Basic Grey taffeta.  It’s finished off with LOTS of dimensionals!

This was such a fun sketch to do.  I did enjoy doing the scored background and have to play with that some more.  I used mine to create a background piece, Connie did hers with the main image.  Gave it a whole different look!  Did I mention how happy I am that I got this set?  I just LOVE IT!!!

Happy Stampin’!
