Another Challenge

I just love it when Lisa, Connie and I get a chance to play.  I don’t get the chance to ‘fuss’ as much with a card, but it get me creating!  This was a challenge card for us.

We started out with this sketch and Connie and I decided we were going to use Afternoon Tea and Bloomin’ Beautiful (Connie later used Live Your Dreams).  Lisa and Shona (who joined us for this challenge) were using Bali Breeze.  I started out doing my flower in Groovy Guava but then ended up switching to the soft sky colors.  The base card is Soft Sky.  The brown strip is from the Afternoon Tea paper and so is the circle.  On the ‘for you’ piece, I stamped that saying (from All Holidays) on another piece of paper from the Afternoon Tea collection.  I punched it out with the 1” circle.  Next I punch a brown 1 1/4” circle from the same paper as the strip.  The scallop is punch from the same paper as I stamped the ‘for you’ on.  I sponged around the edges with some Close to Cocoa ink.

I stamped the flower on watercolor paper and layered it on a piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock. Since I have the need to have ribbon on things, I added not one but two ribbons!  I like to ‘mix and match’ ribbon so one piece is soft sky double stitched ribbon and the other is chocolate chip taffeta ribbon.  I like the look of these two together...one very casual and the other very elegant!  I pierced above the brown strip then layered on the flower using dimensional.  I go through ALOT of dimensionals!  LOL!!!

I think that about does it for this card.  Sorry for the break...been trying to get some things done around my house and had a fun gift card class at my house on Tuesday night!  I can’t believe the weekend is almost here!

Happy stampin’!
