Bag Topper Owl
Here’s a fun project using the exclusive SU sizzix bag topper die. I saw a version of this on the Internet (and now a larger variety of them!). I’ve been using this at my workshops this month…sometimes as a demo and sometimes as a mnt. He is just SOOOO cute!
So I took Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip and ran them through my big shot at the same time. The chocolate chip I trimmed using the dashes as a guide. I filled a small cello bag with some Reese’s pieces (the PERFECT owl body colors!), folded my Tangerine topper and stapled in place. Next I covered over the staples with the trimmed chocolate chip topper. To make the eyes: punch out two 1” circles out of white and layer them on the chocolate chip. Punch out two 1/2” circles out of basic black and place on the white. Use your white gel pen to make the marks on the eyes. Next punch out one 1” circle out of Chocolate Chip and cut in half. If you want, sponge around the edges using Chocolate Chip ink. Put half a dimensional behind each eye lid and layer on top of the eye. To make the beak, using your large star punch, punch out just one point - makes the perfect beak! The wings are a scallop circle (from our regular scallop circle punch) trimmed and added to the cello bag using glue dots.
Go check out the adorable bag my friend Lisa made using the owl!
Aren’t these just the cutest little buggers!!! Happy Big Shotting! (I couldn’t really say stampin’ since I didn’t do any!!!)
