Treat Holder
It’s time again for another SUO Challenge! I just LOVE challenge that are just for Stampin’ Up! stuff and the SUO is always a nice theme for you to participate in! For the next two weeks we are challenging you with the theme of treats! Now it doesn’t HAVE to be a treat holder but this is a treat holder I’ve been doing as my make and takes in October.
I wish I could say this was an original idea…but it’s not. I got the idea from my friend Connie Babbert over on Inkspired Treasures. She did this treat holder for the September Tour de Freaks hop (oh…the OCTOBER Tour de Freaks is coming THURSDAY!!!!) and I thought with a couple changes it would make a fun Halloweeen treat!
The treat holder is made from Old Olive Top Note scored at 2 and 2 5/8 then folded. Inside I stamp the EEEK stamp using Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Basic Grey on 1 x 3 1/8” Whisper White strips and then wrapped around the nuggets. As a reminder you should NOT adhere the wrappers to the actual nugget wrappers they should be able to slide off. The nuggets were then attached to the base. If you don’t want to go through the trouble of stamping the wrappings, just use some of the dsp!
The belly band is made from a 1 x 9 strip of the dsp (I used the Frightful Sight dsp) scored at 2, 2 1/2, 6 and 6 1/2. I wrapped this around the folded treat holder. The Happy Halloween tag is stamped using StazOn Jet Black, colored using Tangerine Tango, Peach Parfait and Old Olive markers, punched with the Decorative Label punch then a Cajun Craze Decorative Label (cut into four pieces and spread out to create a frame) on the back. This is added to the belly band and then I tied a knot in a piece of Tangerine Tango Scallop Dotted ribbon and added to the tag using a glue dot.
Isn’t that a great quick and easy treat? I thought so! Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
