Tour de Freaks - January
![]()
WOOO HOOO…it’s time for another Tour de Freak blog hop! This month we are celebrating “From the Heart”...and what could be better for the heart than lots and lots of CHOCOLATE! If you are going forward through the hop you have arrived here from my friend Connie Babbert at Inkspired Treasures. As always her projects were just FABULOUS!!!! I just LOVE her LOVE hanging! And now for the chocolate…
Okay…a little general information about my projects…first I decided I wanted to use the “Eat Chocolate” set for my projects but I didn’t want to use any of the ‘Valentine’ dsp so that you could make these with more generic dsp and still have a Valentine project. I just the First Edition dsp from the Occasions Mini and paired it with Basic Black, Real Red, and Crumb Cake. Also I wanted to various Ghirardelli chocolate items…yummy! For the first project I have some Ghirardelli coffee. I found these little coffee packs at the Target $ Spot around Christmas time…I have seen them other times too. This is just an easily little ‘box’ that I made to hold the coffee. If you come back over the weekend I’ll post the template and cutting/scoring directions. It really is a quick little box.
The top of the box uses the rounded tab punch in Crumb Cake on the front and back and then tied shut with a piece of Real Red 1/4” Grosgrain ribbon. I added this because I wanted to make my box from 8 1/2 x 11 paper. If I had used 12 x 12 I wouldn’t have needed the extra. For the wrap-around…I layered on the Real Red Scallop and the top Real Red strip to the box and THEN added the newsprint separately. I’ve found it you add it to the dsp and then try to wrap it around it doesn’t lay nicely. That little tiny heart (in the Red Glitter paper) is from the 2-Step Owl punch (tooo cute!).
So now for my second chocolate project…yummy! This uses the Bitty Box and Envelope die. Did you know that this is the PERFECT size for 2 Ghirardelli squares? You can even make the envelop work to use as a cover for the chocolate. Okay…the box is in Basic Black and I tied a piece of Real Red 1/4” Grosgrain around it, I decorated the lid with some of the First Edition paper. I layered a Basic Black 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon on Real Red 1/4” Grosgrain and then added it to the First Edition layer. Then I added the Decorative Label Tag.
For the chocolates, I use the envelop in the First Edition dsp, wrapped a Basic Black ‘belly band’ around it and then added a glitter heart (the medium heart from the 3 heart punch) as a little extra decoration. The 2 wrapped chocolates fit perfectly in the little box…TOOOO CUTE!!!
And now for the SERIOUS chocolate lover…I found these Ghirardelli chocolate bars. I wrapped the bar with some of the First Edition dsp then added a Basic Black 1 1/4” Striped Grosgrain Ribbon around it and tied at the top with Real Red 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon. I made the Real Red Tulip Frame by modifying the size. There are lots of tutorials out there on how to use the Tulip Frame to make various sizes. I will post a link to one of these after the blog hop is over (so check back over the weekend). I stamped a piece of the Very Vanilla with some of the chocolate piece in Crumb Cake and add a little ‘bling’ added that little heart from the owl punch with the Glitter paper (yes…I am SERIOUSLY addicted to this glitter paper!). I did the to do list with my markers cut it out, layered it on Basic Black and then to the chocolate bar.
Really these were all VERY quick and easy projects…you know for those last minute gifts! I do like the Basic Black, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, First Edition dsp look of the projects!
Now it is time to head on over to Lisa Martz’s blog to see her delightful projects! Just click on the picture below to take you there!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Yay for chocolate! It is my favorite thing about Valentine’s day! I love how you combined 1 stamp set and 1 product to make several easy to duplicate projects.
