Welcome everyone to the Tour de Freaks December Blog Hop where we are giving everyone a SNEAK PEEK of what’s in the Occasions Mini!  This will also help you know what to spend all the Christmas money on!  LOL!!!  If you are going forward in the hop you arrived here from my friend Connie Babbert at Inkspired Treasures.  As always…FABULOUS!!!  I just LOVE what she did with the hearts all all GREAT SAB paper!

For those of you who always join us for our monthly hop you know that I like to take one thing and use that for my projects.  As I was going through the mini I was inspired by the Designer Cuts Cards & Envelope Set on p 9.  I thought instead of just making up the cards the way they are shown, I’d do a little something different with them!

So for my first project I took the heart card and began by using my heart framelits to cut out the pretty cut heart.  I then cut out the front of the card, trimmed down and ran through the Polka Dotted Embossing Folder.  This is layered onto Chocolate Chip.  I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border border punch on Riding Hood Red and added to the card panel.  Then I wrapped around a piece of Chocolate Chip 5/8” Satin Ribbon and then a piece of Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon.  Then I added to the Blushing Bride card base.  I used the Heart Framelits again to cut out a Riding Hood Red heart and layered behind the designer cut heart.  I made a bow using Chocolate Chip 5/8” Satin Ribbon and a Blushing Bride Glimmer Brad then added to the heart and added the heart to the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting (from P.S. I Love You) using Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip, punched with the 1” Circle punch, then layered onto Blushing Bride Modern Label punch then the card front using dimensionals.

Now this is my FAVORITE!  It is sort of based on an idea I saw at the Louisville Regional but of course…different.  This uses 1 1/3 of the lacey border card.  I cut the card into thirds to create the banner then added a piece of Blushing Bride between the layers to frame it.  I used the Timeless type for the letters and lots of other fun stuff to make this.  I kept with the Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate theme on this too.  I’ve created a mini tutorial on how to make this banner.  Click here to take you to my tutorial on this.

Well it’s time to move on and check out Barb Mullikin’s delightful projects!  I know you will LOVE them!
