The Sounding Joy
Ooooo…it’s another Thursday and another challenge on Create with Connie and Mary! Since we are celebrating on the Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2011, I thought I’d go with the Holiday Mini set The Sounding Joy.

Although these are not really traditional Christmas colors, I tend to not do the ‘traditional’ red and green Christmas cards! it’s so much nice to added some different colors in there! And well…there IS red (the burgundy counts…right?) and well River Rock can look green…no really…have you LOOKED at that color! So I do have the red and green and a little bit of blue too! LOL!!!
The base of the card is River Rock. I added a piece of River Rock striped dsp. Next I took a piece of Bravo Burgundy, stamped the joy using Bravo Burgundy CRAFT ink and clear embossed. I took another strip of the Bravo Burgundy, used the Lace Border PUnch and added that piece behind the stamped burgundy piece and then added to the card front. I stamped the word star using River Rock on Very Vanilla. I cut this out using the circle scissor cutter, embossed the Joy using Bravo Burgundy CRAFT ink and clear embossing powder and added to a Baja Breeze scallop circle. I made a double ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Baja Breeze seam binding and a Vintage Brad and added this to the circle then added to the card front using dimensionals.
So are you ready for Christmas? If not, you can still subscribe to Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2011 for only $34.95 and have access to ALL the projects we shared so far and the rest to come! So head on over and find out more!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

Great card Mary! I love the joy sentiment repeated on the background panel—clever way to get mileage out of the stamp set!

I didn’t purchase this stamp set and every time I see a card using it I almost get pulled in. Love the lace ribbon panel just on one side too!
