We have come to the end of Week 5 for the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012!  My…the time is just FLYING BY!!!!  This week we were celebrating the ‘summertime’ sets and products in the mini…so for my challenge card today, I could wait to use the Sweet Cake stamp and Sweet Shop dsp.

The challenge for this week is a color challenge.  Although this looks like a simple card with all the layering I did on the main image…this took awhile to do.  The base of the card is Whisper White and I ran it through the Stripes Embossing folder and rounded the corners at the bottom.  I took a piece of the Wisteria Wonder embossed dsp, rounded the bottom corners of that and added to the card front.  I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon and a Wisteria Wonder Printed Designer Brad, added an extra piece of the ribbon, added to the card front hiding the ends behind the main cupcake panel.  Okay, for the main panel, I stamped the image twice in Soft Suede cutting out the whole image of one and then the rectangular panel and ‘icing” (leaving the cherry and stem on there) of the other.  I stamped it once in Pool Party and cut the inside panel out of the that one and once in Wisteria Wonder cutting out the cupcake base, cherry, and heart from that.  I inked the greeting using Soft Suede, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder markers and stamped inside the rectangle.  I then started layering each of the items using lots and lots of dimensionals.  It does look REALLY COOL in real life!  So except for all my insane cutting and layering, this really was a quick card!
