Sunflower

SUO79Happy SUO challenge!  Yep…time for another one and this one is FAVORITE TECHNIQUE!!!  When it comes right down to it, I would have to say my all time favorite technique is emboss resist.  Then I would have to say it is making ‘bow’ my way then stamping on dsp….so I have 3 of my favorite techniques rolled into one card!

The base of the card is Crushed Curry 4 1/4 x 9 folded.  I took a piece of the music dsp (Modern Medley dsp pack), stamped the sunflower in versamark, embossed with white embossing powder then sponged Crushed Curry and some Early Espresso (didn’t want black) in the center.  This is layered onto Basic Black and added to the card front to that the finished size is still 5 1/2.  I stamped the greeting on Very Vanilla using Basic Black, cut into a banner and added a Crushed Curry and a Basic Black banner behind it.  I made a “bow” (click my tutorial tab above to access tutorial on how I make my bows”) using Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon, Candy Dot Base and Black Candy dot, added to the banners then added to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I added a couple black candy dots to finish it off!

So…check out what the SUO challenge team did with the challenge and join the fun!

  1. Love this. I always do a sunflower card for my son and DIL for their anniversary, which is coming up soon and this would be a lovely idea to CASE. Thanks for the inspiration and great job.

  2. This is so pretty and timely! I too love embossed resist and especially on DSP. Looks great on the music sheet! I was just thinking yesterday I need to get my big sunflower out and this confirms it! : ) So lovely!
