Stitched Stockings
Happy Monday everyone! It’s time for another Technostamper Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge and it was a perfect sketch to showcase Stitched Stockings one of the sets we are featuring on Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2011.

I love the look of the ‘banners’ behind the main panel. What a GREAT look! I also like that overall it is a pretty simple looking sketch so you didn’t have to do a lot of ‘fussing’ with it. Here’s a couple quick notes on this.
The base of the card is Riding Hood Red. I took the word print from the Letters to Santa dsp, cut a square, then cut into strips. I used the 1 1/4” square punch to make the strips into ‘banners’. Next I took the striped Old Olive dsp print, layered an Early Espresso Scallop edge along the bottom and a plain strip along the top and added this to the card front. I stamped the argyle stocking twice…once in Riding Hood Red and once in Old Olive, punched with the stocking builder punch, cut the old olive argyle section out and layered onto the Riding Hood Red one. I stamped the top/toe/heel in Early Espresso, punched out and layered onto the stocking. The loop is made from a piece of Very Vanilla 1/8” Taffeta Ribbon. I made the banner in Very Vanilla from the petal cone die, stamped with the Merry Christmas from Bright Hopes, added behind the stocking and added these to the card front to finish it off.
Didn’t I tell you it was nice and easy! We are featuring all things stockings this week on Create with Connie and Mary Holiday Edition 2011. Mary, this is so cute. I love that paper in the background. Just darling. I can not believe this is the first set I bought from the pre-order with the punch and have not even used it yet. This is a great layout for it. You are so awesome! I hope you know how much I appreciate you playing along each week! Thanks so much.
