On the Grow
Well…here we are in the second week of the Preview Period on Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition and since one of the sets that is in our list is On the Grow…I thought I’d use that for the Thursday Color Challenge. I wanted to go nice and simple with the card so the image would really pop. Oh..and I should mention…BLOG CANDY!!!!
Before I get started on my card I want to start by saying we are announcing SURPRISE #4 on the Create with Connie and Mary site today and along with our announcement we have BLOG CANDY (the chance to win a free subscription to Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition). With the colors of the challenge I thought they would go nicely with the little scooter image. So I started with a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 base of Sahara Sand and added a strip of Poppy Parade dsp (from the Level 1 hostess pack) and a striped piece of Not Quite Navy dsp from the Regal Paper Pack. I round the corners to give just a little different look to the card.
Next I stamped the scooter using Basic Black and then colored in using the Poppy Parade, Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand Markers…okay I cheated JUST A LITTLE and used some Pear Pizzazz for the stem/leaves and a little on the ground. I used my AquaPainter and Poppy Parade ink to do the flower pots as I wanted them just a little lighter. I stamped the ‘thinking of you’ using Not Quite Navy ink and rounded the corners. Next I colored some Whisper White 3/8” Taffeta Ribbon using my Poppy Parade marker then made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using that ribbon and metallic brad. I added this to the panel and then added this to the card front using dimensionals.
So…have you been over to the Create with Connie and Mary site to check out the FANTASTIC projects? If not, better head over there right now…we have a REALLY COOL SURPRIZE for you…BLOG CANDY!!!! And don’t forget…we still have our Early Bird Special going on. Save $5 off the regular subscription price of $29.95…that’s $24.95 for 5 FABULOUS weeks of exclusive ideas!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

The two strips of DSP are what makes your image “pop” and your famous cute little bow just completes the card so well!
