On the Grow
Did you know that today is the 2nd Preview Project on Create with Connie and Mary? If not…click here to see a sneak peek of the project and to find out how to get the tutorial and sign up for BLOG CANDY!!!! There’s a fun color challenge on SCS today and I decided it would be fun to play along.
Okay first…I HATE TO WATERCOLOR…probably because I’m just not that good at it…but…I LOVE THIS IMAGE! Hmmm…I seem to be a bit conflicted on this! LOL!!! I do love this image though so I pulled out my watercolor paper (okay…had to dust it off a bit), some ink and my AquaPainter and went to town.
The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. I took a piece of Very Vanilla and added a strip of the striped Crumb Cake dsp then layered onto Basic Black. I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using Basic Black Satin 5/8” Ribbon and a White Neutral 3/16” brad that I colored black with a sharpie. I added another piece of the ribbon then attached to the panel wrapping the ends around the back. This is added to the card front using dimensionals. I stamped the image and greeting using StazOn Jet Black ink and colored using Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake ink and markers. I layered this on Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler and then to the card front. I added a couple of rhinestones for just a little sparkle!
