Oh my…I do sooooooo love flower stamps!  And flower stamps WITH MATCHING PUNCHES…THE BEST!!!  Today for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge (it’s a color one), I have something a little different for you…and easel card made with the Dresden Plate die!

This is Week 3 (of 6) for the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition 2012 and we are featuring Flowers and such.  I just love the Mixed Bunch set (and matching punch) so decided to use it on my card for today’s Thursday Challenge.  Now I also wanted to do something a little different with the Dresden Plate die and figured out I could make it into a cool little easel card.  Here’s some of the details….

Cut out the largest petal from the die…I did mine in Pool Party for the color challenge today.  Now I will say, I tried to do this first score line on the Simply Scored tool and couldn’t get it straight but what worked was to make 3 3/4” from the top of the petal and fold it up on the mark…that way you can see that you get the bottom of the petal ‘centered’ to the middle of the top.  Honestly…this worked best!  Now use your Simply Scored and score 1 1/4” from that fold.

Now fold it up and poke a hole for your brad…this is what will hold the easel in place.  I started out my using our regular silver brad but then switch to the 5/16” Silver Brad on my finished one…held the easel MUCH better!

Cut the largest scallop from the 2 scallop circle die in Concord Crush.  Stamp the greeting on Sahara Sand using Concord Crush and punch with the 1 3/4” Circle Punch.  Add to the Concord Crush Scallop Circle.  Note…I ended up having to move this piece down and to the right so when I ‘swung up’ the top portion, you could read the greeting.  Layer a 2 1/2” Whisper White Circle onto a Sahara Sand circle.  Lay on top of the Concord Crush Scallop circle (centering it) punch a hole and add a silver brad.

Decorate the front.  I stamped the one flower using Pool Party and punch out with the matching punch and added to the circle using dimensionals.  Next I did the ‘center’ using Concord Crush and punched out with a 1” Circle punch and added a Clear Rhinestone brad to the center.  I made a ‘banner’ using Sahara Sand, stamped Happy Birthday in Concord Crush, added to Pool Party flower using glue dots and dimensionals, then added the Concord Crush center on top using dimensionals.

The banner can then be used to move the circle piece up revealing the greeting underneath.  I finish off the card by stamping the let’s celebrate in Concord Crush on the base and adding some Basic Rhinestones.
