I love white, soft cards.  Not sure what it is about them that I like so much but I really do.  Today on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge we have a GREAT sketch for you to try.  I can be a little challenging but I think you will really like it!

This sketch is actually based on a card I did awhile back.  I really had liked the overall design for the card and decided to use it for a Create sketch.  One of the problems though, is when you have already used the sketch for a card, sometimes it is difficult to try to figure out something different to do with it.  That happened to me because I kept seeing that imagine in the center as a flower like I had in my original card.

For some reason I’ve really been into my bird punch lately so I decided to use that for my card.  The base of my card is Pink Pirouette 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  I took a piece of Whisper White and layered it onto Pear Pizzazz.  Next I took four 3/4” squares of whisper white, rounded the opposite corners of each and ran them through the Elegant Line Embossing Folder.  I added them to the card front using dimensionals and stamped hope happens using Basic Grey.  I punched the bird out of Pink Pirouette and sponged the edges some and the leaf/stem from Pear Pizzazz and add them to the card front using dimensionals.  Finally I made a ‘bow’ (click here for my tutorial) using White 5/8” Satin Ribbon and a pink circle rhinestone brad.  I added this to the panel then the panel to the card base using dimensionals.

I really like how this ended up looking really different than my original card but still really held true to the sketch.  We would LOVE you to join us for the challenge!  It is SU Only and each time you enter your name is entered into a drawing for a FREE subscription to Create with Connie and Mary Summer Edition (coming soon).  Some lucky April participant will be the winner.  So held on over to Create with Connie and Mary and check us out!
