Hope Happens
Have you ever sat down to make a card and had an idea and try as you might it just didn’t work? Well that is what happened when I sat down to work on my card for colourQ challenge this week. I finished a card up last night and was going to post it but just wasn’t happy with it so I decided to sleep on it. I’m glad I did…here’s what I ended up with!

Now when I started out making the card for this (that I did finish but just WASN’T happy with it) I used circles and stars…which were REALLY cute but just wouldn’t work into a design no matter how hard I tried…and really I tried HARD!!! I had actually started blogging it and then just scrapped it. Overnight this idea came to mind and I have to say I am MUCH happier with it and just LOVED how it turned out.
Since the picture had alot of white in it with just a little color, I really wanted to go with that. The card base if 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 (because I seem to be stuck on this size right now!). I took another piece of Whisper White and ran the top part through the polka dotted embossing folder. Next I tied a 1 1/4” striped red ribbon and wrapped it around this layer then added it to the card front using dimensionals. For now you are going to have to pretend that the ribbon is the NEW 1 1/4” Real Red Striped Grosgrain (since we don’t have that in our hot little hands yet) while in reality it is the old Riding Hood Red 1 1/4” striped Grosgrain ribbon). Since the color challenge was to use Bravo Burgendy, Real Red, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue I decided to use all those colors on my greeting by using the markers. I stamped the greeting on an oval from the Ovals die and added it to the card front using dimensionals. Next I took three itty bitty heart buttons and added Bravo Burgundy, Night of Navy and Brocade Blue hearts to them using white embroidery floss. These are attached with glue dots.
Can you believe it…that is all there is to this! This one…I’M HAPPY WITH and feel it is worthy of the colourQ challenge!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
