HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all our American friends!  I hope that today you get to spend the day with family and friends.  For my friends outside the US…thanks for stopping by today and I hope you are also spending the day with family and friends.  I must say though…I am thankful that this quarter at school is over!  (Even though I start a mini term on Monday…LOL!!!)

Today on Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge we have a cool color challenge for you!  I think this color combo is great for masculine cards but really there are so many different things you can do with it.  I was surprised how nicely these colors came together as I started working with it.  I know I wanted to use my Gently Falling set for this ‘Thanksgiving’ challenge so the colors really worked for me!

The base of the card is River Rock (yep…I’ve been using this a bit lately!).  I took a piece of the Lucky Limeade striped dsp, added to the card front, added a strip of Night of Navy and then some Navy brads along the side.  I did a ‘bookmark’ from Night of Navy and added to the card front.  I had to trim a little off the top to make it fit.  I stamped a Whisper White panel with large leaf/River Rock, small leaf/ Lucky Limeade, outline leaf/Night of Navy.  This is layered onto a piece of Nigt of Navy and then the card front using dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting using Night of Navy, stamped the leaf behind it in River Rock, punched with the 1 1/4” Circle Punch, layered on Night of Navy 1 3/8” Circle, then onto a Lucky Limeade 1 3/4” Scallop Circle (sponged in Night of Navy) using dimensionals.  This is then added to the card front, aligning with the bookmark, using dimensionals.

I think this card would also make a GREAT masculine birthday card…just would need to swap out the greeting and you would be good to go!

So…when you have a break from your holiday festivities…head over to Create with Connie and Mary to check out the very talented design team!

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!...and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!
