Guess what? Today is Thursday and time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! We have something different for you today…make sure you check it out…

Our challenge this week is an inspiration challenge based on a wedding cake! We found this cake at Collette’s Cakes. Looking at the picture of the cake what inspired me was the all the white flowers with the colored ‘bumpy’ centers. So I needed to figure out a way to to the cool ‘bumpy’ centers.
Aren’t those centers cool? Well I figured out three ways how NOT to do them and then finally one way how TO do it! I punched out cardstock using the 1/4” punch, put a glue dot on the back and stuck it to a piece of wax paper. Next I cover the dot with Crystal Effects. I did a bunch of these up and then let them dry overnight so they were good and dry. Now I punched out a bunch of Whisper White flowers from the two smallest flowers on the Boho Blossom punch and cut between the petals so they would be easier to curly up. I then added the little colored ‘bumpy’ centers to each flower using a glue dot.
The base is Whisper White that I ran through the Polka Dotted folder. Next I cut a Top Note die out of Whisper White and tied a White 5/8” Satin Ribbon around it. I attached this to the card front using dimensionals. Then I started adding all the little flowers using glue dots! (boy…I went through A TON of glue dots on this project!) Next I made the little tag using the Tiny Tags set and Medium Jewelry punch. I put a white embroidery thread through the tags and attached them to the bow.
So…did I capture the cake? I think so! Now don’t forget to head over to Create with Connie and Mary to see what the design team did with the inspiration challenge and then let’s see what YOU do with it!
Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!

What a cute idea for making the shiny middles of the flowers. I will have to remember that one. Cute card. Thanks for sharing.
