Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  This week we have a theme challenge for you and it’s a pretty easy one…4th of July!  So make sure you create a card (or project) and then head on over to Create with Connie and Mary and link to your creation.  We can’t wait to see what you have done.  Also…today we announce our NEW DESIGN TEAM!  Check it out…

Now first I need to tell you a funny story about this card.  My friend Connie (yep…of Create with Connie and Mary) came down to visit and stamp.  I was working on some cards for my June card classes and I had remembered seeing a card using Season of Friendship (you know…my VERY FAVORITE SET) and using it for a patriotic theme.  So off I went looking for it.  Well I did find it and there was only ONE CARD out there that had used this set for a patriotic theme and who was the designer…YEP…my friend Connie!  We had a laugh over this!  Now if you want to see her card…check it out here.

Okay…on to my card.  I actually had done this in Brilliant Blue and the red polka dotted 1/2” ribbon but since they are now officially retired (as of today), I thought I would change it just a little.  The base of the card is Pacific Point.  I stamped the one firework on there using Pacific Point ink.  I stamped the tree trunk on white using Chocolate Chip and added some Certainly Celery leaves.  I layered a Real Red Scallop edge along the left side and then layered it to the card front.  I tied a Real Red 5/8” Grosgrain Ribbon around the card.  Next I punched out some Real Red and Pacific Point stars (the small star punch is officially retired too) and added them to the tree using glue dots.  I inked the greeting using Pacific Point and Real Red markers, stamped on Whisper White, punched using the 1 1/4” square punch and layered onto a Pacific Point Scallop Square.  This is added to the card using dimensionals.

Now…you have to admit…this tree can be used for ANYTHING!  Now make sure you head over to Create with Connie and Mary to see the other challenge cards, make a card using the theme, post to your blog or and online gallery (referencing CCMC105) and add to the linky tool on Create.  We can’t wait to see what you do with this challenge!

Until next time…HAPPY STAMPIN’!
