Can you believe that we are already to the end of January?  WOW…it sure does fly by!  Since it is Thursday, it’s time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge!  Today is one of our cake inspiration challenges!  LOVE ‘EM!!!

This is the first week of the Create with Connie and Mary Occasions Edition and for our subscribers we have been focusing on all the fabulous items in the Bring on the Cake Suite!  So in honor of us using the items in that collection, I decided to use the Bring on the Cake set for my Thursday challenge card.

The base of the card is Blushing Bride 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  I took a piece of Early Espresso and attached it to the bottom of the card.  Next I took a strip of Very Vanilla and using a ton of punches (Medium Oval, Small Oval, Large Oval, 1/2” Circle, 3/4” Circle and 1” Circle), I did all the shapes on the strip attaching with glue, glue dots and adhesive.  I trimmed off the ‘over hang’ parts and then attached to the card base.  I wrapped a piece of the Blushing Bride Twill around the card and made a ‘bow’ using the twill and a 3/16” neutral brad.  I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso and then colored in cake using my Blushing Bride marker.  This is punched out with the Wide Oval punch and attached using dimensionals.  It just needed just a little more to finish it off so I added some Basic pearls around the greeting oval and on some of the shapes.
